When I watch Eli, I see a guy who is better than anybody at getting the ball to that one spot where a) his receiver can make a play while staying in bounds, and b) not even the defender who is practically in the receiver's back pocket has a shot at breaking it up. The other elite quarterbacks are great at making plays when there is a little space. Not that their receivers are wide open, but they have a little room for error. Eli and his crew make no-room-for-error plays seem almost routine. Sometimes, it really ticks me off when they do that. Other times, it's like: "There they go again."

Ahmad Bradshaw says Cowboys can't win with Romo Personally, I don't see much of a difference between Romo and Eli. Eli happens to be on a better team. Put Eli with the Cowboys and he would be a failure too. I do think Romo needs to stop playing golf so much. How is he going to beat Howdy Doody?

I agree with Ars. Eli probably has an edge but if I were starting a franchise I would take Rodgers, Brady and Brees, maybe Rothlesberger, well before Eli. Might have a couple more QB's than don't come to mind. But it is really silly talk arguing over who was the better QB,....Peyton or Eli...SERIOUSLY!!! Peytom by a mile. Ars, I know you don't like him but he has a far better resume (stats) than Eli.
The # of championships just doesn't hold much weight for me. Peyton was (so far) a better QB. He was a 1-man wrecking crew. Eli is getting better but he has always needed skill around him.
And I would take Dan Marino over Eli too and Dan never won anything.
Eli is solid, top ten easily but not yet lengendary.

At this point, Eli is better than Peyton because he has helped his team obtain the ultimate goal of the game--winning the Super Bowl. If we are discussing throwing the ball to people, Peyton is tops.
In a team sport, winning beats out personal records.

It's like I said before when we were talking about Pro Bowl consideration. Eli's team wins games that matter. Romo had a fantastic season, statistically. He did it with an O-line that doesn't protect nearly as well as Eli's, and a defense that was no help. Given a chance to win a game late, Eli does it. How? His receivers catch the ball instead of tipping it. And, this is a big one, no penalties.

In a team sport, winning beats out personal records. So Jeff Hostetler, Doug Williams, Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer are better than Dan Marino. Got it!

There is no doubting that Dan Marino was one of the best QBs ever. However, he still failed to help his team win an NFL championship. Marino still thinks about not winning a Super Bowl So Jeff Hostetler, Doug Williams, Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer are better than Dan Marino at winning championships.
