Guitarist Chuck Loeb, a much respected veteran and staple at the annual Berks Jazz Fest, is hosting his third annual guitar workshop/seminar for musicians of all ages and levels, that want to pursue their love of the guitar. This workshop will be held on Thursday March 31 from 12pm - 2pm at the Reading Crowne Plaza Hotel (1741 Paper Mill Road, Wyomissing, PA.) Instructors include Loeb, Chieli Minucci, and Frank Vignola.

The String Training will address many of the topics and challenges facing today's guitarists, including jazz, blues, rock and fusion improvisation; chord structures and accompaniment; sight reading, practice, and study habits. The format will be interactive - with instruction, discussion, question and answer sessions, and student participation. Registration is $20.

I have to say that Berks offers some wonderful opportunites for aspiring musicians of all levels to get interactive instruction with some of the best musicians in the business.

In addition to Chuck Loeb's String Training, there is the ever popular Gerald Veasley's Bass Bootcamp. This year's instructors: Adam Nitti, Jimmy Haslip, Anthony Wellington, Richard Waller, David Dyson, and Bryan Beller. Bootcamp runs from 3/25 - 3/27.

There is also the Steve Smith Drum Clinic on 4/2 from 12pm-2pm.

and the Tim Price Adventures in Jazz workshop on 3/27 at 12pm.
