Ars did you see the footage of the snowfall in Philly & NY? It was way more then 4-5 inches. You got it right with the idea of being able to handle the blizzard. Again in New England and in the Buffalo area where lake effect plays such a big part of the whole thing they are more prepared to handle the heavy conditions. I live in Northern Indiana where Lake Effect snow off of Lake Michigan is common place and the counties up here have the setup to handle it. I worked for a radio station back in the 70's that was about 60 mniles south of Indy and if they had more then 2 0r 3 inches of snow they were ready to close the schools. It is all matter of what you are prepared to deal with.

We may have become somewhat more whimpy about the weather, even here in this part of the country but in this case I think they made the right choice. You can play the game in snow and wind, but with as much snow as they had fan safety does become a big concern. Anyway game was played and Philly forgot to show up and it is on to next week for everyone.

Forcast for the game at Indy this week is 72 and clear....oh yeah we will be indoors. I will keep a watch for that piped in sound and changing air currents as I down a beer or two and watch my Colts win their way into the playoffs.

Funny video!

After living in Syracuse and Buffalo, NY for several years, I didn't see it as a big deal.

Colts fan are hoping Jim Caldwell will get fired and replaced by Jim Harbaugh if the Colts lose the game. I doubt Jim Harbaugh would ever take the job after being replaced by the cyborg.

I only see Jim Harbaugh going to Michigan (he's an alum) or 49er's down the road but he has an ideal gig at Stanford and should sit tight there and enjoy a few more years while he is having such great success.

Bears showed the rest of NFL how to beat Mike Vick and it has been working. He does NOT like to get hit and get roughed up. He looked terrible Tuesday night. Vikings...14 point underdogs on the road winning convincingly outright. Anthing can happen this year.

Well I still wonder why there has been outrage from only one person-I love it when lay people convince themselves that they know better than the pros. And I wonder why there is no outrage- from the two teams and/or their fans. Perhaps both teams+fans decided that the experts knew more than the public. What a concept...the experts being better able to gauge safe conditions than a layman. OH-BTW--The conspiracy theory about the NFL delaying the game solely so Favre could play...whoops! Maybe if they had postponed game til Jan 15, 2011....cuz Favre has 3 chances to start game 16, slim, none,+fat. Insofar as Michael Vick he is more banged up than anything. Philly should rest Vick(and other key players)this week to give his thumb, ribs and legs time to heal.

You know what is really funny about all of this is that Snow caused the delay of two NFL games and then there is the NHL trying to play their annual outdoor game and now the temps are going to be near 50 by game time. Go Figure.

Brett Favre- IMHO SHOULD have said that he would announce his plans in mid February. Over and over I hear coaches and players say that announcing your "retirement" a minute after the season has ended-when one is emptied physically, emotionally, and mentally-is always a bad idea. But having learned nothing over the past five years, he doesn`t defer. Sure-he is sure-right now....FOR WHAT-THE THIRD OR FOURTH TIME NOW. But he MEANS it this time, right? Switching gears- I was wrong about N,E.They were much better than 11-5! Lookin strong for post.Ditto Packers, Falcons, Indy, and a couple of other teams.

The guy is retired. He has to work on his elocution skills now. If the Vikings bring him back, it should be as a QB coach. The Vikings should start looking for their future QB now.

Indy was in a competition with the Titans. They didn't look like they were ready to face a team capable of play defense.

I'm picking NE and Atlanta!

I would disagree with you in part TR. The Colts have shown they can play offenes against almost anyone. Had some real problems hanging on to the ball yesterday and they will need to fix that. Even with all the drops Manning still threw for over 200 and two TDs. The running game while not great is vastly improved with Adai back and the addition of Rhodes (and why was this guy out of the NFL for almost two years?}. What concers me is the defense they showed yesterday. They seem to be getting better on run defense, but giving up over 300 yards to an aging backup. Ok is a good backup, but the Colts blew far two many coverages for my liking.

I will go along with the New England vs Atlanta choice though. Would love to say I could pick Colts after what they did in the last four, none of which you thought they would win. But it is a tougher road now. The way New England is playing I am notd sure anyone can stop them and they should win it all. But a lot of experts had different pre season picks and that is why they play the game on the field.

Oh by the way I did arrive at Lucas Oil Stadium well in advance of the game and conducted a exausting search for any sign of piped in noise or changing air currents and sorry to say none could be found. Well ok I really got there so early to check out the beer stand locations. Turns out my seats were in an area called the advantage club, just a few steps from all kinds of food and drink! grin I know that you are not a fan of indoor fields and I understand that, l really do, but I have to tell the guys who designed this place did it right by the fans. It is a great place to watch a game and will be a fine host for the Super Bowl next year. Indy as a city is going all out to make it a great experience for those attending.

I would agree that going into the playoffs-Atlanta and New England seem to be the cream of the crop in their respective conferences. Who would you consider the second best teams in each conference-that have half a chance to surprise the Falcs or Pats if the play flawless for 60 mins? Can you single out any team that is peaking at just the right time? Who wins THIS weekend?
