The Colts will not win 12 or more games this season and it's not improbable that the Chargers can hold the Colts to 16 or less points. The Chargers have been playing well on both sides of the ball. The one-trick ponies only option is Peyton Manning! The Colts may win the AFC south by default unless the Jags continue their run of good luck.

The Chiefs have a very easy schedule but are a mediocre team at best. The recharged Chargers or the inconsistent Raiders are going to take the AFC west.

Does anyone here think Brett Favre should be put out to pasture if only for his own sake?

I think it would be good to keep Favre if only for his years of experience. I agree with his idea of a simple offense with simple variations.

At this point, I would hate for anyone to force Brett out.
He has the record, and his team is going nowhere. He should give it up for his future health. It would be a very sad day if in his last game he's carried off the field instead of being able to walk off.
If he doesn't voluntarily sit down, he should be allowed to finish out the season.

The seaso is lost for the Vikes, but Favre loves playing, is as an intense competitor as any in football. I think he would like to leave football knowing he inspired the team to play more like they did in 2009 in the final third of 2010. Favre is having an off year. But the truth is, the whole team has played way below par this whole year. We shall see if the coaching change has a similar effect as the effect that the Dallas change did. I am looking forward to the big game between the 9-2 teams. GO JETS-hey-gotta love that 2nd year QB-the USC Trojan alum!

Wow-Atlanta-Green Bay was a very good game. Atlanta impressed me, they look solid on both sides of the ball. Despite the Pack having an anemic run game, they look solid as well. Evenly matched game-either team could`ve won. Atlanta with last minute field goal-DID. Now channel surfin between Raiders-Miami and Philly-daBears...latter should be another good one. Vikes finally get a W. Favre wins WITHOUT Aidrian Peterson-go figure. LASTLY-aside Re: Thanksgiving games-all 3 games were entertaining, competitive, close. That is not always the case on Thanksgiving

I heard that last night.
Colts were awful last night.
Chargers? Well, they are a good team, but I hesitate to crown them among the AFC elite.
We've seen this act before. They start slow, hit a hot streak in mid-season and have all the experts hailing them this or that. But in the post-season, somebody - New England, Baltimore, Pittsburgh - somebody always knocks them off.
Will they break through this time?

Elite status means you are a contender. It does not mean you can't be knocked out of contention by another elite team. The Chargers are in the play offs every year so why aren't they eligible for elite status.

The Jets are another team that people who do not know football refuse to take seriously until they come to your stadium and stomp you. The Steelers didn't make the play offs last year.

I expect the Patriots-Jets game to be a major battle. Rex Ryan is kinda in Bill Belichick's head.

The Jets are a very good team. The Chargers are, too. I like the Jets' chances of winning the AFC better than I like the Chargers'. The Chargers remind me of those "very good but never can quite get over the hump" Marty Schottenheimer teams.
Oops. Marty coached this team before Norv did.
Steelers? Hmmm. Two Super Bowl wins in the last 5 years. Didn't make playoffs last year. Which one matters in 2010?
Neither.

The thing that impressed me on Sunday night was the defense. While the Colts are one very banged up team at this point they have been able to move the ball on other clubs including New England. But the Chargers stopped them dead in their tracks. Now if that can keep that up the rest of the way they will be a team to contend with. Are they good enough to match up with the likes of New England, Balitmore and the Jets, not to mentioned a Colts team that could be back to near full force by play off time. Time will tell, but they played a whale of a game on Sunday night. Considering the Colts hardly ever loose in the new house (not counting the give away games here).

A Charges vs Pats matchup would be fun to watch. Pats of have shown they can score at will but are suspect on defense as the the Colts proved in that final quarter. The Chargers can also score with ease, Rivers is the real deal, but defense is coming into its own. Good defense generally trumps good offense. With so many teams still in the running the next few weeks are going to be fun. I would not be so quick to dismiss the Chiefs just yet, the Raiders have shown moments of brilliant play but they have stuck up the place at times as well.

Jets and Ravens are always good defensive teams and both of their quarterbacks are beging to show signs of grown up in the NFL. You never can rule out the Pats and Brady, but that young defense could be their downfall. Still thinks the Colts are rule in the South, but as always there is a battle here. Thought Houston was going to find something to be a contender this year, but looks like they are done. Titans now have some QB issues but always tough with a good running game. Jags too much up and down for me, may be a year of two away from being a real contender. They prove me wrong in the next matchup with Colts who are reeling at the moment. But they still have Manning and that is one very powerful factor. They are not a one trick pony by any means. Manning runs this train, but he has a pretting good supporting cast of players, some ailing and others out, but don't count them down and out just yet.
