The game is not over and Cowboys fans are already making excuses. Kitna is a very experienced QB but it seems like the Cowboys don't give him many snaps in practice. Adversity may be what's needed to shake off the arrogance!
If the Cowboys keep losing, they might be able to get him before Buffalo does!

No excuses, TR. I like Kitna. If he can run the offense, get this team on track, few people will be happier. But considering the poor performance of the line, I'm not expecting any heroics. But the O-line has been a problem for the last 2 seasons. As a team, they've been just good enough to mask the weaknesses. Minnesota, the only team they faced with a front 4 that consistently gets penetration without blitzes, made them all look very slow in the playoffs and again last week. Individually, Free, Kozier, Gurode, Davis and Colombo are good players. But as a unit, they do not communicate well and age is catching up to all but Free. Opposing defenses have been good. And the lack of creativity in play calling is certainly a factor. But you only have to see so many plays when there's a blue shirt in the backfield before Jones or Barber takes a step to realize these guys aren't teeing off like a good offensive line would. Without Romo, the play calling becomes very conservative - which would be great if they could run the football the way teams like the Chiefs, Jets and Raiders do. And yes, this game was over when I posted that message. Giants were up 37-20, and the Cowboys hadn't done a damn thing on offense or defense. Ware was a step too late to disrupt Manning. Nobody else - Spencer, Ratliff - was even getting close. And the secondary. It was like shooting ducks in a pond. Every play, the receiver he threw to had plenty of green in all directions before you saw a white shirt. That last touchdown to Manningham. Okay, excellent play call and perfect execution. And some awesome downfield blocks. No problem. Credit the Giants. But there were two Dallas players who had a chance to tackle Manningham before he scored. They didn't even try to shove him out of bounds. They ran by him and out of the play. They quit. To these eyes, the whole team quit after the Giants went up 24-20. I don't mind watching a loser as long as I see effort. After Dez Bryant's punt return TD, I didn't see much effort from the boys in white.

A friend of mine in the New Orleans area says she and her family were discussing their haunted house, where they use a projector to put scary images on the roof of the house. She was also bemoaning the fact that the Saints play on Halloween night. Her teenager daughter, says, "Well put the Saints game on the projector -- that is enough to scare anybody."

That was interesting. Live from Wembley Stadium, Michelle Williams sings Star-Spangled Banner. Jeff Beck plays God Save the Queen.

Good job, Lions. Buffalo, to be winless, is playing some pretty good football. 49ers win in England. Good defensive game between Packers and Jets. Dallas - well, there's a college team near me called Mississippi Valley State. They're pitiful. Inept. Right now, I'm thinking that's one offense above high school level that the Dallas defense can stop.

I'm really surprised by the dominating performances from the Raiders. That defense is suffocating!
The Cowboys are playing the Packers next so them Cowboys 'bout to get busted. The loss by the 'Skins isn't going to help the Cowboys get to the play offs by default. The Giants are going to take the NFC east unless the Eagles.
I heard that Houston brought a broom to Indy. Houston doesn't have much of a defense but this is their best chance to win in Indy.

The Raiders are turning into a team to be watched. Almost takes you back to the glory days...almost not quite yet, but they are improving. As are the Lions who have show they can put points on the board. Need to find some defense yet, but they too are much improved. Seeing those two along with the Chiefs playing well this year has made picking games a bit tougher this year.
As banged up as the Colts are, this could be the year for a Texan sweep, but the Manning and company have good memories and losing like they did is not forgotten. The loss of Clark is the big blow, they are so deep at receiver that they may well be able to fill the hole. Not as well as Clark plays, but Manning seems to have a way of finding someone new to make a star for the day.
Hey Woody do you think Mississippi Valley State would be available for a game with Notre Dame next year? I am thinking they could replace Michigan State, Michigan Tech to replace Michigan, The Coast Guard to replace Navy, University Of Alaska to replace Tulsa, Redwood Community College to replace USC and Southern Arizona to replace Utah.....then maybe we could win a damn football game!

Haha, you guys are funny. TR, the Cowboys were done after the Minnesota loss. Actually, they were probably done when they lost to the Bears. 0-4 at home. It doens't get any worse than that. 10 of 11 defensive starters are back, yet a group that limited opponents to less than 17 per game last season is giving up 30-plus. Ware is trying, but it seems nobody else in that group is putting forth much effort. Newman will tackle somebody once in a while, and might luck up on an INT. Chicago has one of the worst pass protections in the league, and Dallas couldn't get to Cutler. I'm thinking mediocre to average quarterbacks (Garrard, anybody?) are salivating. How many more third-rate passers will have career days against this team before somebody steps up? I'm a fan, and for 40 years, I've tried to watch every Cowboys game available in my area (no Sunday Ticket here). It's so bad, I don't even want to watch any more. But, they're on Sunday night, and I do like the Packers, so I guess I'll look. Heck, they can lose 40 to nothing. I didn't have a problem with that 34-3 shellacking Minnesota put on them in the playoffs. The Vikings played a great game. Period. But what Dallas has done so far this season is worse than pitiful. They finally seem to have a handle on the penalties, but now they're clumsy with the football on offense and the defense isn't showing up at all. You know you've hit a low when the ever-optimistic JJ so much as hints that he might possibly consider replacing his pet coach. Dave, nice job by the Colts tonight. Watching them and the Saints last night are good examples of how to make do with what you have. The Saints secondary is depleted - only one cornerback available - but they managed to frustrate Big Ben and his receivers. New Orleans might not do much else this season, but for one night, they showed they still have some pride. Can't say that about those guys in north-central Texas. The Raiders would pick NOW to be a good team. The Chiefs finally get a decent team together and they run into this. Well, what are old rivalries for, eh? And Dave, if there's money in it, MVSU would travel to South Bend, lol. The baseball team care here, so it's the least they can do, right?
