Well...I can not get onto the Magic Island to POST via my cellphone....keep getting http error 504....but as I am on my bosses work computer, thought I would post this way until that problem gets resolved...if it ever does!!

Saw the RING ceremony....I cried.

Seriously, it was great to see.

Lakers are down to the Rockets by 11 as I post. It would be nice to win on ring ceremony, bu the bench has let us down BIG time tonight!

Paul

At that point, I wasn't concerned about the bench so much as the inability to defend Houston.
My, how quickly things change.
A couple of stops and some 3s by Shannon Brown, and the Lakers are up by 9. It was tight at the end. Thrilling final minute. But L.A. prevailed.
I am glad that Boston won, but I can't make up my mind if it's because my respect for the Celtics may be evolving into mild like or if I just wanted to see the Miami side show drop its opener.

Had some of the same feelings with the Boston-Miami game, but you know the Celtics are a team that went out and landed some news faces over the past few years. Granted the Heat trio did do a bit more grandstanding with their deal. Guess it is only fitting they should lose the opener, but there are 82 games to a season....long way to go.

For me I am just hoping that my Pacers can find a degree of respectability. It has been a long sad time since "The Brawl" a few years back. I have watched this team have some good years and one great one getting to finals (well I go back to ABA days so there were several great years back in the day) and some lean years as well. Losing is one thing but that fiasco on TV left this club with no real identity. Reggie was gone and players came and went so quickly we wondered just who are team was. Finally we have a bunch of young talented kids that look like they could take this team back to the Miller days once again. They should be fun to watch play again and as much as I love the Colts, this is Indiana....we need a good if not great pro BASKETBALL team. Spurs tonight, not sure just how this club will start out, but if they avoid serious injuries, they should get better as the season moves on.

I have to confess....you KNOW how I feel about Boston....but I too was unashamedly rooting for Boston players, even Paul Pierce!!

Is it surreal to see Shaquil Oneal in a Boston uniform? it will be weirder to see him in road green!!

Loved the result...James can win all the scoring titles he wants all the regular season MVP awards he wants....BTW-- was anyone as disgusted as me with that new, trying to be cutesy putsey self serving James commercial??

Kobe has FIVE RINGS and a FINALS MVP!!!

I don't like the new "What do you want me to do" ad.
Here's an idea, LeBron: Shut up!
Good point about the Spurs. And no, I do not like Pierce as a player. But he totally got hosed on that blocking foul. It's almost like pass interference in football. What's a defensive player supposed to do? I've seen where defenders tried to get out of the way to avoid a collision and still got called for the foul.

I agree.. there is no lost love for Pierce, but James got the superstar presumption call on that one.

I do like the emphasis on complaining.
A player should be able to question a close call or bad call without making a spectacle. Dis the refs, and get T'd up.

Here we go. Lakers vs. Suns.
Late in the game, Matt Barnes gets called for a reach-in foul. He has possession of the ball. He turns, runs all of 3 steps, and hands the ball off to the ref.
Technical foul!
In the "God don't like ugly" department, Steve Nash missed the free throw.
Unless I missed something, Barnes did not argue the call. He did not make any rude or angry gesture. And he handed the ball to the ref instead of slamming it to the floor or punting it into the stands.
But he was T'd up.
I should mention that the ref was Joey Crawford - the same Joey Crawford who T'd up Tim Duncan for laughing on the bench a couple seasons ago.

Hey the Pacers win for the second night in a row! I know it is early in the season and two wins is not that big a deal. But you have to understand the state of this franchise in the post brawl era. One thing to loose another to just self destruct. Now we have a bunch of young kids coming into their own playing as a team. Larry Bird has taken a lot of heat over the way he has gone about rebuilding the franchise, but I think they are turning the corner. These guys are starting to look like the kind of player he was with a never quit attitude. Lot of games to go but who knows they might move from page 3 in sports section of the paper to page 1 along side the Colts.
