My mother, Marion Schuman, passed away September 7th. I have added a new page on my website with a recording of her singing.

She will always be my guardian angel!

Tom. Wow, man, I am deeply touched.
First, for your sharing this with us. That's very special.
Then to hear your mother's voice. Anyone who sings like that is beauty personified.
And your eulogy - well, I'd say it's more like a living tribute.
Thank you.

Tom, I got online and listened to your mom backed by the Schuu virtual jazz trio. Wow. Even Spock and Data would get choked up-forgive my Treker reference. What a voice. That she chose family over career, that tells me everything I need to know about her. A saint. EVERYONE on Magic Island should visit JazzBridge Music and check out your tribute....and tell two friends to check it out..., Peace, Paul

Paul -- very well said. And Tom, in the spirit of continued celebration of your Mom -- please perform some of these songs in the future, in any way that you can! I can only hope that growing up you got to perform with her at times, even if only at home -- what a great voice.

Tom, that was a wonderful tribute to your mom. I've been listening to you, Jay, and Spyro Gyra since the late 70's. Y'all played in Baton Rouge a few times in the 80's and my wife and I were able to attend. My Mother-in-Law gave us tickets for a Valentine's day night cruise on the river boat President and of course Spyro Gyra was the featured band. We'll see you fellows on November 5th in New Orleans. Time sure flies
