there are no updates on Billy's facebook page. Please keep him in your prayers.

I looked for information at his facebook page too - hope he's recovering OK.

Chandra and KT are close to Billy's family, so I know they will let us know when there is news.

Luv Billy G - he is such a positive force. On a personal level, he helped me and was so understanding when I was going thru a tough time.

Hard to explain how someone can become such a close friend thru the Internet. But many people here on the Island are that way and it has spilled over onto Facebook and into show attendance.

I've obviously been out of the loop a long time - but I've looked on Facebook and can't find Billy G's page. Could someone PM me with it? Thanks.
BTW Pam - I'm flying into DC Monday and will be there until mid-December. Renting a condo at 400 Mass Ave - but no wheels. I'm pretty good with the Metro though. Maybe we can catch a show or meet up while I'm there.

unless you've "friended" someone on facebook, you won't be able to access much of their information on their wall.

Obviously, there will be no one to accept friend requests - it's not in the forefront of the family's mind.

We will keep folks posted as to updates.

I am very aware of the drill on Facebook. And I have Billy G's and Marla's cell numbers and have cruised with them. However, I did not want to make a call under the circumstances either.

I am sorry that you misunderstood what I posted, but that's becoming the norm around here on all the forums - between many people. We seem to be assuming that a comment was a personal attack or a snarky remark, and I just hope it stops soon. We have been making an effort on all forums to keep things courteous.

I did not question anyone's closeness to Billy or Marla and did not intentionally represent any exclusive access to status or information.

Those with access to his wall, will obviously post any info for everyone here.... just like has been done in previous posts. We are all concerned for Billy.

At the risk of overstating it, here goes...

I don't know what Billy's security and privacy settings are. I don't know what you'll see even with the actual link - his wall could be blocked unless you're friended.

Facebook users cannot just send URL links to other user's profiles. Their own profile name is embedded into the link and is useless to others. That's why folks receive those "add a friend" suggestions.

If you're on facebook, use the search box and enter his name. His page will come up with others and you will have to look at the profile photos to select - and then you will either see his wall or not see his wall.

There is no additional info on Billy. It was a horrible motorcycle accident and he is in critical condition is all anyone knows. His Facebook page says nothing more.

Please don't attack Kat or anyone else on here. We are all just as worried as everyone else and pray for his recovery. All Kat was trying to say is that if you are not already a friend of Billy's on Facebook, you may not be able to see anything on his Wall or post anything to him. And since he is not available to approve friend requests, his page will stay as is for now.

This is what is written regarding the accident by Chandra:

Yes, if anyone has any info, please keep us all informed. Billy is a great, fun loving guy, and we all want him to have a complete and speedy recovery. Kat said something about it being hard to explain to some people about how people can become friends over the internet, and I'm sorry that they can't understand that. I've met a lot of good people through the internet, and Billy G is one of them.

I am so sorry to hear of Billy G's accident. I too will send up prayers for his complete recovery. Billy is really a friendly and welcoming person as other have mentioned here. Let's stay as positve and uplifted as we know Billy G would for all of us.

there have been some updates within the past day on Billy's page .... there is a wall post on Billy's facebook to friend his daughter for status updates. Her name is Marcie Walker (Marcie Garmon).

From what I read on Marcie's page (and the wall is public, so others can search and check), Billy had some setbacks and is under sedation - he had some blood clotting and pneumonia set in. But he is improving, so keep the prayers going and good thoughts and positive vibes.

Marcie's original post:

"My dad was in a motorcycle accident this past Saturday..hit a deer. Fractured shoulder, broken ribs and internal bleeding in the head. Due to this accident found out that he has blood clots in his legs and lungs. Pray for him please!!!! We're in Dayton, OH in the Miami Valley Hospital."

Just checked on Marcie's facebook page. She wrote:

"So my dad is still needing help with his breathing and it sounds like there's a lot of fluid in his lungs. They're going to do an x-ray tomorrow to see exactly how much. He seems to be more coherent today and keeps asking to go home."

more from Marcie's page:

"So dad had a very good day today. He is aware of everything going on and trying to talk, but the trach in so makes it a little difficult. He asked to sit up in a chair. While he was in the chair they took the oxygen off and he did good for about a half hour breathing on his own. Every day he keeps getting stronger. There trying to figure out a way to get him home to a hospital here, but insurance won't cover it."

Sounds like Billy is a real fighter. Keep fighting Billy G! Thanks for the updates Kat.

"The doctors are getting a little frustrated with dad because he keeps trying to get up out of the bed. He is confused at times of where he's at and is trying to escape. His body still needs time to heal and it's just a long process for him. If he would just relax it would be faster."

some encouraging news from Marcie's facebook:

" Update on Dad: Slowly improving. Not needing as much help breathing. Had to take off blood thinner cause he started bleeding inside..we'll see what docs plan on doing later today about that. He's asking for food...really wants to eat. Thank You for all your prayers!"

She mentioned in a response that the bleeding may be an ulcer.

Asking for food (even hospital food) must mean that he's getting stronger. Go Billy G!

Today's status from Marcie:

"Praise the Lord!!! Dad is out of ICU! Yeah!!! He's in the Pulmonary Floor of the hospital. Still has to work on healing his lungs but I know without our Lord he wouldn't be here right now. Keep up the prayers and maybe he'll be back in Michigan by the end of the week."

I am so pleased to hear of your dad's improvement. Lets hope it continues.

"Thank God for answered prayers. Dad is doing so well, they will probably be transporting him to Sparrow on Friday!!! My mom asked them to go to Sparrow instead of a place in G.R. so that way she can go there from work and so I'm able to go and see him without driving so far."

"Dad had a set back today He isn't feeling well and has a fever. They're doing a culture to see if he has another infection somewhere. Because of this he won't be coming to Michigan tomorrow. Let's pray and hope he will be better soon and be back in Michigan early next week."

"Update on dad. My mom got down there last night and he was determined to leave. Told mom to give him the keys cause he was leaving. Of course she didn't, he's still hooked up to a ventilator. He's scheduled to come to Michigan on Monday to a rehab facility in Greenville. There are only a few rehab places that take people on ventilators."

Please pass on to Billy G and his family that someone who had never heard of him til news of his mtrcycl accident was posted on MI-well I am praying for him all the same. wow- I haven't checked in in a long time, so was very surprised to see this about BillyG- I consider him a friend also, we've PM'd many times in the past.
As a fellow motorcyclist, it hurts to hear when someone wrecks one- they are a dangerous toy. I know BillyG loved riding his.

Here's hoping for a FULL recovery, and a vigorous return to his life and family. His wonderful personality brightens most any day, and I look forward to hearing from him again!

"Hey Don! Are you up to taking Cherry to Capital? you will need a hand rolling her inside the trailer. D-rings/straps are inside. She took a hard one side slide down the road. New spoked wheels are in the garage. So my good buddy, old pal, old chum; if you feel like hauling my girl into town and helping the old man out, let me know. THANKS!"

well.... looks like Billy is chatting on Facebook. I'm sure he'd appreciate friend requests, so just search for Bill Garmon on facebook.

"Awwrite biker dudes and biker chicks. Word in the hallway is that I'm gonna be let go from this joint come next week Wednesday. That's right folks; Billy G is coming home."

Thank you for keeping my Island friends updated. As my time to leave draws nearer I have more free time available to myself so I'm trying to communicate with everyone I can and hopefully catch up with all I have missed.

I almost hate to see what my Harley looks like, but the insurance company has forwarded $ome $eriou$ check$ for her repair which means it is far, far from being totaled.

Can hardly wait until Wednesday.

I'm home. Doing much better now that I'm out of the nursing home/rehab center. Turns out the insurance company totaled my bike. Gosh; am I gonna miss it. I have quite a few wolves to fight off. Geez; the world seems to have gone heartless and money hungry. Greed dominates.

I'm gonna have to read Whoopi Goldberg's new book...Is it just me?
