I'm loving Brian's new cd, XII! Especially the first tune, Feelin' It featuring Chuck Brown. I thought my fellow Islander's would like to have the lyrics I transcribed so y'all can sing it while you're driving!

Feelin’ It by Brian Culbertson ft./Chuck Brown

If you’re feeling the groove
Get up out your seat ‘cause it’s time to move
Get up, it’s what y’all came to do
Get down, we ain’t playing’ around

If you’re feelin’ the vibe
Put your hands in the air ‘n’ wave side to side
Get up, we gon’ party tonight
Get down, down, down, down

I ain’t tied up
You ain’t tied up
We ain’t tied up
We’ just fired up

When the clock says 2 it don’t mean we’re through
Because you and me we gon’ do it ‘til 3
You want some more, we’ll even go ‘til 4
To keep it alive, let’s do it ‘til 5

We ain’t tied up
We’ just fired up

I like the first tune, but I think I like it because of the Chuck Brown influence. It's defiitely more Chuck than BC. Chuck Brown is a local legend around here and he sells out venues wherever he plays here in DC.

I'm actually not crazy about the rest of the album. I'll be fair though and give it another listen.

When I lived in DC, I hated go go music. Chuck Brown should be familiar to everyone who owns the demo project "Numbers Game" by Thievery Corporation. Chucky Thompson is credited also so I know the go go vibe is authentic.

Reminds me of my days as a studio rat although I used a hardware based sequencer and sound modules instead of a PC with VST's.

I pretty much followed that whole video blog from start to finish! He'd be a great super producer! Seems real easy to work with although he means business! Every session seemed productive!

Here's the finished product! Funky! Bass is killin'!
