Did Alternating Currents have guests? I never saw any credits for anybody but Jay, Tom, Julio, Richie, Kim, Dave and Gerardo.
lol @ split decision. Man, that would be a tough call, head to head.

I'm kinda bummed that I wasn't around to thee Spyro in the 80's or 90's even. Shakedown and those older songs would have been awesome to hear. My first concert they played a lot of older tunes like Morning Dance, and Shaker Song. But their still awesome

I missed most of the '90s, although I did get to see them shortly after Three Wishes was released. From that, they played Breathless, Real Time, Jennifer's Lullaby and Nothing to Lose.
From their '80s material, I got to hear in two late-decade shows Cashaca, Bittersweet, Sweet and Savvy, Freetime, Old San Juan, Serpent in Paradise, Shakedown, Cayo Hueso, Serpentine Shelly, Del Corazon, Daddy's Got a New Girl Now, Limeight, Shanghai Gumbo, Innocent Soul and Captain Karma.

I love all of those songs and I haven't gotten to hear them. I may or may not I guess. Eh. My top faves are Cayo Hueso, Islands in the Sky, Daddy's Got a New Girl Now, Bittersweet and Sweet and Savvy. I think I've heard Cashaca but I'm not sure what else.

Cachaca is on the same album as Sweet and Savvy and Bittersweet (Carnaval).

To clarify-in reguard to the change in approach in the recording process: I didn`t intend this specifically to Alternating Currents, but to the records in general from 1985 on. 1977-1984 approach featured slightly to radically different bands song to studio song(resulting in 15-20 players on some early records). 1985 began a different approach with the touring ensemble recording the whole record, The players band has indeed been augmented by guest musicians since then. Cellist on De La Luz, No Sweat Horns, Gerardo coming back to the family to contribute to Down the Wire, Marc Quinones reappering from time to time, Dave Samuels as well, and so on. I am blessed to have attended 44 Spyro Gyra concerts starting Nov 8 1985, so I have seem many early classics, including Mardi Gras and all the others listed by Jazz and Incog!
