There you go again! This time, you have posted the thoughts and opinions of a conservative think group, The Heritage Foundation. The majority of the content appears to be the opinions of The Heritage Foundation (The Cause of High Unemployment by James Sherk, see pg. 7). There is no doubt that President Obama should consider all sides and solutions to tough problems. However, there is no way to please everyone. It makes no sense for the President to be the only one to compromise on issues while the other side only seeks a "comeback" into power.

There you go again. "Thoughts and Opinions"? Unlike all the far left blogs you hang out on, The Heritage Foundation has dozens of links in each editorial backing up what is stated with fact. It's that simple.

Thanks for those great links. I hope you read them. It cuts through the crap and tells it the way people want to hear it.

I don't subscribe to any blogs, right or left. I'm just an independent thinker who thinks the problem right now is people who "tell it the way people want to hear it" instead of telling the truth. The hatred and divisiveness exposed by the Limbaugh set is troubling. These people benefit from the growing hopelessness of many Americans. It's no small wonder we have well armed lunatics planning anarchy.

...heard an interesting take on this today...from Dr. Oz. I don't think that he is our go-to guy for a soluntion but I do think that there is something to be said for his way of thinking...this is not an exact quote, but it went something like this: We should not be doing all of this bickering about health care - we should instead be putting our time into the care of health - for example...by "simply" doing something to stop the current "spread of obesity" we could cut more fat (literally) out of the current spending on health care problems/needs than any of the new plans will do...and the currently proposed ideas will all go bankrupt if individuals don't start putting more time and energy into taking care of their own health. Just thought it was worth mentioning...

All.... I've kept silent except for my opinion and have tried to let this thread go where it goes.... emotions have run the gamut in all these pages.

It really has become very partisan and I would like to poll to see if folks think it's worthwhile to keep this thread open.

Please post and let me know.

Kat... You do whatever you want and whatever you see fit. You have 7 or 8 active posters on this forum (all liberals) and me as the lone conservative. No big deal.
There are billions of people looking for that next Obama hand out. We understand the system....

Steve.... it has become a 2 or 3 person conversation, not a discussion....

I'm just checking to see if there's any interest in keeping it open as a discussion.

Kat, it's really more of a 2-person thread. Anything I say at this point would just be repeating two points: mixed feelings about the law itself, and the tug-of-war between left and right in which the right appears to think their position is the only one worth pulling for.
Good post, golfwidow.

I read the links and saw a lot of discrepancies in the arguments presented by the Heritage Foundation. It looks like they were for universal health care coverage before they were against it. In fact, they were instrumental in helping Mitt Romney install it in Massachusetts.
