I am not a fair-weather fan at all. I went to many Saints games in the 80s when I lived there. I am not a fan of the NFL, but I am a Saints fan and have been for over twenty years.

I do not make predictions, especially about sports. Talking about a game beforehamd is a waste of time, in my opinion. To each his/her own.

The thing is, with the Vikings 10-1, the Saints can't afford to let down if they want the home field. The schedule looks fairly promising, except for the Cowboys, and even there, the Saints match up pretty well.
It'll be an interesting next 5 weeks.

I totally agree. Historically, the Vikings have been a problem for the Saints. The next five weeks will indeed be interesting. Peace and goodwill.

That's what fair weather fans do. They don't talk about the team until after a big win.

I actually did give Johnson some thought about MVP honors, but the thing is he was piling up yards when the Titans were going 0-6. In comes Vince Young and suddenly they are on a tear. He has been a difference maker, though not on the level to this point of Farve, Brees and Manning.

I was frankly surprised by the Monday night game. I thought it would be closer yet high scoring. It has been tough for the Pats on the round this year, of course when two of your road games are against unbeaten teams that does not help. They are a well coached team and I think they will be ready by play off time. But it looks like some other teams will be as well. This is going to be fun as we move to these last five weeks.

And lastly it is good to knows that at least I am NOT a fair weather fan, because lord knows I have not kept my mouth shut all season! grin

Vince Young has done well, but it is back to earth for him this week. He won't be up against a Matt Whatshisname, Colts make it 21 in row and go to 12-0 on the season 31-17.

A fair-weather fan is only a fan when things are going well. I have stuck with the Saints whether or not things were going well.

I actually do not talk about them very much at all. Your stupid statement about the coach not allowing his team to lose to a team with a flower on their helmets had to be addressed.

Mark you are so right, not being vocal does not make anyone less a fan then those who are. In my own case I have been a trash talker since my playing days many many moons ago. Given some of the comments that have been made here over the past few months it was hard not to jump in. Given what the city has gone through the past few years it is refreshing to see something so positive happening down there. There is of course the Manning Connection as well, to make it even more interesting, and we can not forget that Brees played his college ball right here in Indiana. To have two teams unbeaten this far into the season is great for the game.

Good luck to your Saints......at least until the face my Colts in the Super Bowl.

It's not fair to call Mark a fair-weather fan. The guy lives in central Louisiana - deeper in Saints country than I am. You may not have noticed but he hasn't participated much in this discussion - unlike Dave and me. Just because he comments after a big win is no reason to ambush him.

Why don't you repeat your affirmation that you're not "fair-weather", bandwagon fan some more. You will stand a better chance of convincing yourself?

Most true sports fans enjoy talking about sports before, during, and after. Your comment was nothing more than an invective--a broadside, a sucker punch, an ambush.

Why would you draw attention to Belichick's emotional response to seeing his team lose? You are not going to discourage anyone from talking trash. I'm brave enough to state an opinion--right or wrong. Becoming a champion is much more than winning a string of games.

Watch how Coach Belichick responds!

His comment was the ambush. When I talk about the Cowgirls, I hope you know I'm not that serious.

I like how you tried to insinuate that the no offense having Cowboys are the Saints' biggest challenge. The Redskins have a better pass defense than the Cowboys.

The Saints are not going to go undefeated!

Actually, what I have said about the Saints to my teenage son is that I kinda hope they do lose one regular season game so that they get it out of their systems. Then they can cruise through the playoffs. Peace and goodwill.
