I am so thrilled! I wish they all could win! But I am so happy for Russ and the Ripps!

I think that was enough of a distraction for us to move on to one final observation: all the smooth jazz albums are gathered, under Category 10, Best Pop Instrumental Album. Chris Botti, Hiroshima, The Rippingtons and Spyro Gyra are all represented there. As pop. Not jazz. So stop with the "smooth jazz is not really jazz" rants already. If the Recording Academy says so, it must be true!

It was the perfect b'day gift for me! cool

Kat - I was going to check to see if the Ripps were nominated (it is always my hope) but now I don't have to! I am SO excited as well! I do love this CD, so I think that it is a great one to be nominated.

Yeah Ripps!

Can we crash the Grammy awards? : )

all we have to do is get to LA and.... try to get tickets. My friend's brother works at Sony.... so I'll ask.

Alas, tickets to the annual Grammy Awards show are not available to the general public; it's "by invitation only" to nominees, recording artists, & record company execs.

The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on "GRAMMY Sunday," Jan. 31, 2010, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8–11:30 p.m. (ET/PT)

...or you can come here and we'll highjack Mike's big TV (because you'll probably know how to use it) and we'll eat brownies and wear crowns...

I have been watching Grammy Live, and they've just announced the winner of this category.

Booker T. Jones won the award....
