Yeah! I have to get through our 7 days until surgery countdown first - then I will hopefully be counting up...47,48,49 & 50!

this may seem like a strange coincidence.... but Eric was on sax for my 50th show in 2005. I hope that you get to the 50 show milestone next week, I truly do.

I've missed a couple here and there since 2007 (shocking I know). So next friday will be #83 for me. I wish it could be a dual celebration, but it will be fun to "toast" you.

I hope so too! Now it's only five days until he gets his new ACL - but now, of course, H1N1 is going around at school and, of course, the vaccine has not been available to us - so I have to keep him healthy or else they will cancel the surgery. He is getting really antsy to get it behind him - so keep your fingers crossed that all goes as planned. There is no school tomorrow and perhaps I will send him to school wrapped in plastic on Monday! : ) I'd keep him home but he has several tests and it will be better to not have them hanging over his head when he goes back to school in two weeks (he'll have enough catching up to do as it is).

I look forward to toasting #50, birthdays, the holidays new knees, good friends, great music, and anything else that we can think of, one week from tonight! ; ) It will be our own little Ripping Thanksgiving Gathering!

Arriving in Boston from Charlotte, NC around 2:00 PM Thursday. We hope to see you and your family there. We have tickets to both shows on Thursday and the early show on Friday. Unable to secure tickets to the second show on Friday. #37,38 & 39 for us. Are you bringing brownies?

Hey Lurker! I hope to be there - and I will bring brownies if so. We were all planning to head up to Boston but our youngest tore his ACL and is having surgery on Tuesday. If he is doing ok by Thursday I will head up on my own - Mike has kindly offered to stay home and take over my nursing duties. If he is not doing well on Thursday I will keep my fingers crossed for Friday. My kids seem to time their aliments to my Ripps outings - remember how sick Alex was on the cruise? Oh well, I have to be a mom first, so we'll see how it goes. I think that Mike will send me on my way no matter what - we have the surgery next week and then his folks will becoming to visit for Thanksgiving week - so he has to make sure that I maintain my sanity! Safe travels and I hope to see you in Boston!

The brownies are ready! Austen was in a bit (more) pain last night - I suppose that it is to be expected as the pump is running out. He is getting good at sleeping through it. If he is holding up ok throughout the day, and he checks out ok at the doctor's this afternoon, I will plan to hit the road by 4:00. I have been up with him every three hours for the last two nights (it's like having a baby) so I might just spend all of tomorrow sleeping! : ) I hope that Mike & Alex can handle nursing duty (which is why I want to drive myself - in case I have to head home early). Hope to see you later this afternoon!

Everything will be fine.... Austen is doing great. Your "boys" will have bonding time together.... but it shows how much they love you, because they want you to see the Ripps - and do the Rico dance.

I will do it with you and together, we will defy the Jazz Police.

yes. that was the phrase of the night, along with "slap that bass".

I'm too exhausted to even write about it.... but it was a joy, all the energy and happiness and great music. This is what live music is supposed to be about.... excited audiences, standing ovations and sold out shows.

Let It Ripp!

...and corn pizza and brownies, and meeting up with "The Lurker" and his Mrs. (hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay - told ya that Scullers was the best!), and the Queen and her royal court, and #50 & #86, and Martinis (or wine will do), and I finally got to eat in the north end, and great photos (can't wait to see them), and Myantology and sheep (or goats - whatever floats your boat), and doin' the Rico, and GREAT music and energy... I missed my fam, but everything else was perfect - a great way to catch my breath after a rough week. Thanks from Austen for all of your good wishes - we hope to have "doin' the Rico" ASAP! Happy Thanksgiving to all! I am, as always, very thankful for The Rippingtons! : )

Kat, and Golfwidow,

Thank you for letting me spend some time with you in Boston! Though I completely missed the shows on Thursday (due to the FAA computer glitches), with these "sisters" aside, I truly enjoyed the shows on Friday.

Yes! Both shows exploded with positive energy!! The guys too seemed excited with a great reaction from the audience: Russ's guitar solo in Santa Fe Trail seriously gave me goosebumps, and solos by Eric and Billy in Eric's number(sorry for my ignorance, but somebody, please fill the title!) was sooo hot, and a collaboration of performance by Dave and Rico in Body Art was super-tight and -cool...just phenomenal.

It is sad to say that this year's tour is almost over (tonight in Buffalo is the last one, I believe): however, I will definitely catch these guys on the road again next year...

I would also like to thank all the Rippingtons for making me feel like my agonizing 4-hour desperation at the airport finally paid off in Boston. It was REALLY fun!!

Well, but one thing I want to say here: I'll make it to Scullers ON TIME next year!

Cheers,
Mayumi
