I have been wanting to go to a NAMM show for a couple of years now. But, I don't know how. I know some of you have gone to a show. Do you just go? Or do you need a membership? Or what? I would like to go this year.

Well, I've been wantin' to go, but, circumstances at times wouldn't allow me, but Tony Smotherman mentioned to me that they've just made a slot for him to play there 'cause he just finished a guitar instructional video in NYC that I think should be out 'round that time, so, it's possible he may take the band, so, I may finally be going.

I just found out from Tony that the band will be appearing for the NAMM Show, he's just waitin' for the details. I'm lookin' forward to it 'cause it will be the week before my 47th b-day.

Bruce,

NAMM WEST COAST is at the Anaheim Covention Center.

They do require a pass....they are NOT impossible to get, even if you are not a musician or vendor. Be creative. Ask your musician friends for one.

Or find out what they look like(the pass badges). Half the people I meet at NAMM shows admit to making their own!!!

Also, lacking that, there are countless jam sessions at "satalite" stages at small bars and clubs with NAMM musicians jamming in impromptu configurations.

I saw Scott Ambush jam with Eric Marienthal last January at a place call Schmidt's, across from the Honda Center.
Paul

Peace.

I'll be signin' up for membership while I'm there performing. Looking forward to see a bunch of my ol' musician friends there and play catch up.

That's really cool. So then there's an East Coast NAMM as well? Or is there only a west coast?

Well, there's the one in Anaheim every Jan, and then there's one in the summer in Austin, Tx I believe.
