Owens play has slipped quite a bit the last two years. He's a 2nd or 3rd receiver at best.

Being the man is tiring. The Bills are a much better fit for Owens because they have Lee Evans opposite him. T.O. doesn't have to be the man.

Ars, you're right about Romo being average, but they can win without Owens. However, they can't win turning the ball over 4 times against good teams.
Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio nailed it: Romo is lower than 13th in the ranking of good NFL quarterbacks, and may be a great deal lower. And without the T.O. excuse, his limitations are even more exposed than they were last year. Against weaker teams, he plays like a top-tier QB. But against good teams, he stinks. In that regard, they need to mix in more short passes (a slant, anybody?) and get away from trying to go for the jugular every time they get a lead. Play the game and not the scoreboard.

I'm not saying the Cowboys can't win games. I'm saying the Cowboys can't win games when they count. They don't have enough football players to win big games. They also seem to lack leadership on the field and on the sidelines.

Concerned for Jake Delhomme lately....the Panthers are off to a dismal start, and he's the main reason from what I can tell.
Monday night against the Cowboys, I relly hope the Panthers "show up" for this one or it's gonna be a sad season.

Later
TY

By the way Favre is looking pretty dang good for an old man....

It doesn't hurt to have Percy Harvin on your side.
Yikes! T.O. with 0 catches. Wait. I might be premature with that. Saints just scored again, so Bills will get the ball one more time with 2 minutes to go.
Jets and Giants both 3-0. Are the New Yorkers giddy or what?

*sigh*
Incredible. 2nd and goal, 3rd and goal at the 1, and the call is for 2 lob passes to the corner? No chance of Jerry Jones selling the team, so he needs to start firing people.
That said, the defense finally showed up. Still got issues, but it's nice to see the secondary cover people for a change. Delhomme's touchdown pass was to a man who wasn't exactly wide open.
Granted, this team - the Cowboys - still has problems in a lot of areas, but it's really getting old all this talk (Steve Young) about how they don't have a big play threat without T.O. Peyton Manning notwithstanding, you're better off with a time-consuming, methodical drive than a 60-yarder that has as much to do with the defense's blown coverage or missed tackles. Besides, earlier in the broadcast, I believe it was Young who said T.O. is not the best route runner in the league (a reference to a play in Sunday's game when he was open deep, but the pass went a little inside and he never adjusted). Despite Romo's mistakes last week, this is still one of the better offenses in the league. Eliminate a few penalties that wiped out big plays, and Monday's game is a blowout. They're their own worst enemy.
As to Romo, yeah, he took a few sacks and missed some throws. But one thing I saw that I haven't seen since he's been the starter was his running when the pocket collapsed. Another game, he'd have stayed back there trying to throw downfield and end up fumbling or throwing an INT. Sometimes, you have to just tuck it and run.
Hopefully, it's a sign that he's learning.

The Cowboys are a second tier team at best (10-6).

Ack. Some NFL players (maybe all?) are going to wear pink on Sunday. Maybe it's the Neanderthal in me, but this just seems wrong on so many levels.
I am for raising awareness about breast cancer. I am for the players and the league donating money to support awareness, research and treatment.
But pink and football is one of those combinations that just shouldn't be - like cherry and Coke, lime and beer.
