The gig was outskirts Jaen, the Jabalcuz Gardens, next to some hills in Jaen.

Setlist:
1. Laser Material, 10'
2. Old San Juan, 13'
3. Band intro 1'

* "De La Luz" with Spanish Lyrics, and spanish intro by Julio.
* Some spanish talk by Jay!! very nice
* Scott amazing with the bass !!!

Thanks for the great review-and the setlist!
Am I wrong, but it looks like they played a 13 minute Old San Juan?
A 14 minute Shaker Song? Wow!
I'm am a bit surprised that the band is playing only two tracks from the-great new-Down The Wire CD.
For example, on the Original Cinema and Good To Go-Go tours, the sets had 7 new tracks each tour.
Neat to have Laser, OSJ, + De La Luz back!
Paul

Yes!! Old San Juan 13', i've got the recording in my camera. I nearly recorded the show completely. Long versions of the songs that never became heavy or tired or boring. After the who I try to comment with Jay about only one song from the new album but someone interrupted him to ask him for a photo... so i got no answer, :-(

Hey-the band toured Good To Go Go for more than a year-that set had 6 or 7 new songs.
Perhaps the band was in the mood to change things up by playing more classic material than they have in many a year. Which is a neat idea every so often.
The 14 minute 'Shaker Song'-was that mostly piano trio-or how was that arranged?

Whoa. They worked in Beat It and Smooth Criminal to Make It Mine? That is so, so cool.
We need a video of this - hint, hint.

Rafael...

You are the man. I've posted some detailed reviews here,,,in past years.

But this one blows me out of the water. I probably don't even need to bother to post a review of the Saturday July 17, 2009 Hyatt Newporter concert 8 days from now.

I love how you listed the solo's on OSJ and SS....and even how long they were!! That is totally out of my super detailed obssessive compulsive review mindset!!!

I love it!!

Paul

Rick,
Thanks.
It feels like family here...honestly.
It even feels that way when when you are around and talking to and interacting with members of the bands on Magic Island. I really sense their appreciation...as much as we appreciate them.
Other castaways here know exactly what I mean.
Anyway, after a kind of serious bike accident that took over a year to completely heal from...some lazyness(and ACK!),apathy-it's great to be marooned here.
And I am sorry I fell asleep and let the tiki torches go out!
