This was recorded back in June at an open mic. We had just a couple rehearsals under our belts at this time. We're much better now but still not where I want us to be.

Good sound, but I can't say much about the camera work.

Oh you ain't kidding! The guy who videotaped us was a friend of the guitarist and I swear this cat must have been wacked out back in the day. He seems very much like an ex addict or something! We all said the same thing when we saw the video. We were all like........"What the h***!!!"

I liked it - it took me a while to ID the song because it's been so long since I've listened to Alana Miles. Too bad the camera didn't focus on the most important player in the band, the bass player....:) Just kidding, it's all important.

Thanks for posting th Vid -- I'm into stuff like that.

There are some more up on youtube (look for dwalmz). I'll be replacing those hopefully with better quality vids from a show we're doing this coming Saturday. Hopefully I can get my wife to run my camera properly. I have a Kodak M1033 digital camera that can record HD video that look like they done a dedicated video camera!

I liked the 70's tunes (the first two -- Brick House and Boogie Oogie Oogie (if that's the name). Next to cjazz, that's my favorite style of music probably because the bass is so in your face.

I was pretty amazed at how your male singer sounds like the original singer of the Brick House tune (by the Commodores?).

What kind of a venue was this? A bar? A community event of some kind?

Yeah, that's the correct name, B. A Taste of Honey.
Good work, Dave. I'm jealous, man. Being able to not only play favorite songs from our formative years but also perform before an audience. The closest I've been was about a year ago when I found the long version of Al Stewart's "Time Passages" on the karaoke machine and did air guitar and air sax solos between singing.
You rock!

It is a bar that has an open mic night every Tuesday. We usually pop in at least once a month.

I appreciate the kudos, Woody! I would love to find some cats into Contemporary Jazz! This area is very limited music wise! I'm still suffering from shell shock as I'm coming from the NYC music scene which is quite diverse!
