Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes! I'm shocked by both untimely deaths. Both talented men made such good careers for themselves. Both too young in their passings.

Yeah, I know. I didn't care for Bernie's sitcom, but I've always enjoyed him in movies.
We all love Isaac for his music, but he wasn't a half-bad actor. I'll never forget that scene in I'm Gonna Get You Sucker where Isaac, Keenan Ivory Wayans, Jim Brown and Bernie Casey were getting ready to do the macho hero thing, and Isaac - in typical Rambo/Ah-nald - fashion packed dozens of guns inside his clothing. On his way out of the building, he slipped on a shell, fell on his back, and every weapon went off dozens of times, and you can see his body shaking with each pop, his eyes bugged and his mouth making an O. When it finally stopped, Isaac said, "Did I get that son of a ____?"
One of the funniest things I ever saw in a movie.

I liked Bernie Mac's show. It was funny, and I liked the way to talked to America in the asides.

Didn't know Issac Hayes had any acting credits. I think he'll be remembered for his music, and, for his role in Southpark. (I hate that show, BTW.)

Never watched South Park.
He's got an extensive acting portfolio:
IMDB listing
I first saw him in Escape From New York. He also had a brief recurring role in one of my favorite contemporary shows, Stargate SG-1.

Wow. Jerry was such a pleasure. His songs were fun.

Now everybody blames his old man
for makin' him mean as a snake
when Amos Moses was a boy his daddy would use him for alligator bait

His acting was pretty good, too.

Motown songwriter Norman Whitfield passed away yesterday at age 67. He wrote or co-wrote some of the great songs for the Motown legends.
