Ok, it is time I started one of these as I always seem to be just putting my 1 cent worth in.

Who will be at the Jazz Alley for the week of gigs in July? I'm counting down the days to when I travel down from Northern Alberta to see the guys and my AA friends.

Keep on playin!!

Hey Gene (Acoustic Addiction),
What say you - will you be making the trek to the Emerald City this year? If so, who's coming along this time? We are planning a boarders table if you want to join in.

I'm not sure whos coming with me this year,,we have 2 new personnel in the band,,,so I am quite sure they will be along. The Sax player is doing a cross Canada trip and won't be there,,,but I'm sure the others will be.

It will be an awesome show as always....I was thinking of catching the Friday and Saturday shows...I should actually book the Friday now huh?

See you guys there
Gene

Fantastic Gene! It is always the Saturday shows that sell out v early, but I'd book now for any show you think you'd want to catch. See you soon!

They are HERE! What a wonderful long set last evening, the standing o so deserved. Dianna Rose from KWJZ provided the heartfelt intro, calling the band old friends now after all these years. The station will be interviewing band members live today at ~3:00 PDT. If you can't tune in to 98.9, stream via web site www.kwjz.com.

Set list, not just yet - will post later in the week per advisement of the RM. It is a great mix with a fun surprise or 2, showing off the band's reach into multiple genres. Several notable solos, GG's in particular, no hiding behind that drum set on this one!

We get another single long set tonight, hooray!

Later,
Elaine K

We’re going for a record here, 10 Standing O’s so far. The Lads have been in v top form (this is news NOT!).

Drum roll…the set list is:

Get Up (Levantar y Bailar) /alternate No Messin’
Jubilation
Jamaica Heartbeat
Carlos the King
Ariane
Out of Nowhere
Big Sky Country
Ernie / alternate Catalina Kiss
Tied Up with String
She Speaks American English
Tuff Puzzle (once as encore)
Encore: Lazeez

Bonus guest Saturday evening was Seattle’s own premier saxophonist Jeff Kashiwa, who joined the band on Catalina Kiss and Tied Up with String (quite the smokin’ solo).

While the hope for a good showing of boarders was strong, other circumstances prevailed so Shane and yours truly have been holding down the fort. Next year!!

Last show is tonight, it’s always an abrupt hit of reality that the band’s stay cannot go on forever!

Hi Elaine,

I've been thinking about the lucky Seattle boarders all week and wishing I could be there with you.

Thanks so much for the set list. Have a great time tonight!

Hi Everyone,

This is my 3rd return to Seattle and the Jazz Alley for Acoustic Alchemy's week long gig. And although I couldn't see the first couple of shows, they were (as usual).. excellent!!

Their set list was upbeat and lively with some extra solos here and there...(especially final night). Songs of note to me as I had never seen them played live before were "Get Up", "Jubilation", "Out of Nowhere", "Big Sky Country", and "Catalina Kiss" (the piece that started me on the road to AA appreciation back in 1987.

The boys were as always, professional in their playing but always tried to have fun. Mile's introduction of Greg Grainger's infamous hairdo when he played in Whitney Houston's band back in the 80's was very amusing. Greg Grainger and Gary Grainger followed up with a most excellent bass and drum solo (duet?)

Not much more to add... a fun time had by all. Elaine and my friend Jeanette had an absolute ball sitting up front and took plenty of pictures.

The last gig was sad as it was the LAST one, but that is they way of things. Looking forward to next year!!

Thanks guys (including Stewart and James) for taking the time to talk to me!!

Back to work in Canada now....
