What a lineup. I just hope I don't freak out and burst into tears from the pressure... from all these heavy hitters on the stage at one time.

Hey Kat.
That sounds really cool. I realize its months away yet, but tell Eric and Gerald that Billy G says hello.

I wish they would venture south. I just can't quite see myself going to NY and wandering around getting lost. Besides I have to spend my tax refund on certifications (sigh)..I've played "Express" to shreds...

Thanks Kat but I already have the cd (all of them, actually). I was just kidding. I'm actually not big on autographs! I appreciate the gesture though!

That is one impressive lineup. I am happy for you. I get to see Three Dog Night next week, which pales in comparision. Have a great time. Peace.

I think I'm with you on the wandering around and getting lost thing Shannon. I'm quite familiar with Detroit and can handle Chicago very well, but it seems like I've become quite the country bumpkin and tend to shy away from the mega-cities anymore. Must be a silver-haired thing - or at least what's left of it

I'm still going.... but alas.... I will not get to hear Randy Brecker and Eric Marienthal together... Eric has Big Phat Band gigs scheduled for that week.

METRO: ft. Chuck Loeb, Mitchell Forman, Dave Weckl & more!
FEATURING:
Chuck Loeb, guitar
Mitchell Forman, keyboards
Dave Weckl, drums
Randy Brecker, trumpet
Bob Francischini, alto sax
Gerald Veasley, bass

My operating budget does not allow for this road trip smile From Eric's website....
7/8/2008 through 7/16/2008 European Tour with "Reunion" with Chuck Loeb, Randy Brecker, Dave Weckl & Gerald Veasley

Just want you all to know that I did not freak out.

I was there on the last night.... Dave Weckl's kick drum mic was 6 inches away from my right elbow, and I could peek over his drums to see him.

The show was fantastic, and just blew me away. I hardly knew where to look, and it was intense watching them play - and realizing how much they were listening to each other ... and yes, really playing together - not just running thru the notes.

Chuck Loeb is da bomb! Mitchell Forman was in rare form.... but mostly I was amazed at listening to Randy Brecker and Bobby Francischini. Gerald Veasley was pure - well - Gerald!

And to cap it all off, Will Lee sat in for the "Low Low Shuffle".

I thought I went to heaven....

Just wait until the pics are ready.

Wow! Lo Lo Shuffle is one of my favorite Metro tunes! I'm assuming he did the vocal inflections that Carmen did on the recorded version? Can't wait to see the pics!
