I listened to the four songs.

I think musically it was fine. The first tune kind of dragged for me. But the second one was interesting because it slowly built intensity and had new sounds that kept my attention.

The third one lost me early due to the slow beginning.

The last one was interesting -- I liked his harmonies.

There were moments when the mix of vocals and slower rock/distortion reminded me a lot of Creed.

About him going through a dark time -- my brother (a formerly signed musician with MCA for 10- years, if I may brag without taking any credit at all:) ) believes musicians pump out a lot of songs when they are hurting or have been through an emotionally trying experience. It wouldn't surprise me if this was true with Andrew. And yes, this is something you listen to when you're not depressed or it could make you feel that way.

Which isn't all bad -- I think good art evokes emotion, among other things.
