According to the liner notes with my CD, your friend is correct. It's Steve Jordan. And welcome to the board.

Hey welcome to the board. We have another member here, Moogman (Eril), who is from Puerto Rico and he knows all the members of Spyro Gyra personally. Eril is also a fine keyboardist. He can tell you everything you want to know about the band!

You're a drummer, too, Mark? Cool. Who else among us plays? I know Bruce does, but does anybody else?

Hey Woody, Yeah, I play the drums too! I started playing in high school, majored in percussion peformance my first two years of college, and still really enjoy playing to this day. I have a TAMA Superstar set with Zildjian cymbals that I bought in 1980 when I was in college. It still looks and sounds like brand new! I haven't played regularly in a band for a long time, but I still practice about an hour a day whenever I'm home. I've learned a lot from listening to guys like Joel Rosenblatt and have really enjoyed expanding my playing ability to other musical styles. (I was mainly a traditional jazz player in college.) Several years ago, Eril was visiting Atlanta and came over to my house (when we lived in Atlanta) and I got to jam with him! That was a lot of fun... Eril is an outstanding keyboard player!! We have a lot of really good musicians on this board. Wouldn't it be neat if we could have a "Magic Island Band"? The logistics would probably be impossible since we live all over the place, but it would sure be cool!

Yeah, I agree. I'm gonna start a new topic in the musicians forum because I want your input.

A cyber project would be doable but I'm not sure if those who play drums have the capacity to record.

Unfortunately, as you point out, I don't have the capacity (or experience) to properly record my drums. Since Bruce is an actual professional drummer, maybe he does...

Hi guys, I've been following this forum since the beginning (I don't even remember when!), but it's my first time posting! I'm a bass player. I used to listen to SG back in the years, but since Scott Ambush joined the band and recorded "Three Wishes", for me has been a must. I'm actually having Scott building me a bass. It should be here in April... yeahright... with the schedule he has! I have my website with some old pics and audio clips....one day I'll find the time to update it! http://www.mauriliomina.comhttp://www.myspace.com/mauriliominaMo'

That's how Spyro did it this time and it sounds awsome!! (Of Course...They're Spyro Gyra) We would have to email each other the ideas and then reocord our parts...the select a place to mix and master!!....Wow...that would be a nice ride!!!

I'm in if the drummers can get something going (or at least program them).

Probably won't find me in AK (Alaska). I don't even fly there with Delta! You might want to try AR (Arkansas) instead... Seriously, though... I hope you can come for a visit sometime, Eril. You are welcome anytime! It would be great fun to jam with you again!!!!!

Well thanks Phil B....I was gonna go home and check the album credits....and also Jay's written comments about each track on "Spyro Gyra The First Ten Years"....seems ge mentions the players liberally in those song by song notes....but thanks to you, I don't need to.
So, instead, I will just pull out Best Of.... and spin it when I get home from work tonight!!
Paul

Paul, it's never a bad idea to refer to notes when you play a CD. I sometimes forget things, or maybe I overlooked something on previous reads. Or maybe there's a name there I'm not familiar with the first time, like Hiram Bullock, but years later saw him as a solo act on The Tonight Show. Anyway, I could have sworn I answered the question a week ago. Thanks, Mr. Brennan for the backup. Apparently, the word of the group's second biggest fan (bowing to Eril *wink*) needs reinforcement.
