I must admit this one caught me by complete and delighted surprise. Someone has posted about nine video clips of the Joe Zawinul Syndicate (group Zawinul formed after Weather Report broke up). These clips are from a performance in 1989. Most of the clips include vocals by Carl Anderson (who performed vocals with the Rippingtons on the “Live in L.A. video). I am big, big fan of the Syndicate but never knew that Anderson had performed live with them. This concert presents a much more “user-friendly” version of the Syndicate who generally can be much more raw in a fusion kind of way. This is really a good performance and I highly recommend it to folks who liked either of these now deceased legends Zawinul or Anderson.
