Hello friends!

It's been a long time since the mp3.com days. As you probably know I've just released a new album entitled "Timeless World" . I'd like to thank Hans from SmoothJazz.de for a great review! This has been an endless project just like the previous "Prime Time" .
People were wondering what happend to "The Chris Geith Group" over the last four years ... Well, in fact we never stopped writing and recording, but I needed time to pick the best material and I also got very much involved in every aspect of the production, including tuning and regulating all the acoustic pianos in between sessions and takes, which is all very time consuming.
I could have put out 4 albums over the last four years, but I'd decided to put all my energy into one ... and so "Timeless World" is the result. I hope you'll enjoy these 14 tracks.
The album will be promoted extensively in 08 including a major radio campaign. Please stop by on our myspace site if you can and sign up on our mailing list for updates:

well, I like most of what I've heard so far- very nice.
But when I went to CD Baby to listen to more samples, it seems either the playlist was mixed in with Prime Time, or maybe you've redone some of your own tunes?? I would doubt that...

Not sure what's going on there, but- when you hit the "play all broadband", it starts my windows media player, and no song titles, just track numbers, so here's what it sounded like to me:
Track 1 new tune
track 2 definitely from Prime Time, but I don't know the names, sorry-
track 3 and 4 appear to be new.

6 is new, but it's a cover of "Have I told You Lately"....not that that's bad, but I've had enough of cover tunes lately; although it sounds like a nice version of it.

7 and 8 sounded very familiar also, either from the last CD or from some of your other stuff that was out there on the mp3 net.

I've listened to a lot of your tunes repeatedly, and really enjoyed them, so don't take this as a slam....just wondering what's going on with the new cd and if CD Baby has it fouled up, or what.

Just passing that along.
It's been a long time. Welcome back.

Hi Bassix

Yes, your observation is right. There are some remixed tracks of the previous album Prime Time. Nevertheless Timeless World is a good album.

I can attest to that. I purchased the mp3 downloads and listened to the entire cd. Now this is contemporary jazz the way it should be done. I don't mind the cover tune as it's a very good version.

As for the cdbaby preview tracks, yeah I think they screwed that up.

The only remixed tune is "Restless Heart" which was also on "Prime Time". It really was our radio promoter who insisted we do a new version as he thinks it is a strong radio cut. "Zero Gravity" and "Just Like That" were actually written a few years back but were rerecorded and updated recently.
The cover tune "Have I Told You" was really more of an experiment. I didn't think I was going to put it on the record, but when I played around with it with my good friend guitar master Matt Marshak and got a really cool nylon string guitar / piano combination, people insisted it should go on the album.
Now we'll sell a million records more ... lol

Here is another review of Timeless World:

Thanks for clearing that up- I guess the one I immediately recognized was Restless Heart, and I like the new version, sounded clean and polished up. I knew I'd heard the other ones too, I think I'd downloaded about everything you had available at the time \:D

Are you going to do iTunes or iTunes plus for the higher bitrates? Does CD Baby do higher bitrates? I have never bought anything from them I don't think. I'd prefer the best quality version available, of course....so maybe I should just order a CD, huh \:D

Thanks again Chris-
