Some of the Acoustic Alchemy fans are beginning to make their way here from the previous board.

I know there are many MagicIsland boarders who love Acoustic Alchemy.

So to get things started, here's a link to the band's web site:

www.acoustic-alchemy.net

The Trio tour will continue in July, with stops in California and Seattle. The full band will be on the East Coast in mid-October.

The GRP video, "Best Kept Secret" about life on the road, and footage of the filming/recording of "Arcanum" - will be re-released on DVD at the end of July.

For fans of the live band sound, there's always "The Sounds of St Lucia" from the jazz festival appearance in 2000.

And last, but not least, a new CD is in the works for a 2007 release.

That's great news on that DVD. I have the VHS of it but it never played smoothly so I just could not enjoy it like I wanted.

Any idea who the new bassist will be?

Kat, didn't they name Julian Crampton as the new bassist?

Say wha? If this is true, we'll see him in a whole new light. I believe he was down with Incognito or the Brand New Heavies or other bands in that UK soul/funk/jazz scene!

Yes, Julian played with the band this past spring, for a series of dates in England...

Hi
Nice to be on the Island . We have decided to keep the Bass position " fluid" for now . For our US leg in July Stan Sargeant will be the man - in October in the US GG's brother Gary Grainger will play and for all Europeon dates its the wonderful Julian Crampton.

Hello all AA Fans,

Saw the Trio (+1) at the Jazziz Bistro in Ft Lauderdale this spring and really enjoyed the performance! \:\)

Thanks for coming down this way and I hope to see you on tour next spring/summer. We have been real lucky to have you guys come here just about every year now for quite some time. Thanks, Stewart, for arranging for the Band's annual Florida Treks! Stewart, do you remember the Carefree Theater in West Palm Beach? You probably realize that it had water/roof damage from all the bloody bad weather we had here last year. Any ideas on any new venues? Could you PLEASE look into playing at the SUNFEST jazz/music/art festival we have here every spring? You guys would be a super fit there! Nice outdoor stage... lots of people, on the intracoastal in downtown West Palm Beach... \:D

Anyway, thanks for making some of the best music out there, and bringing it to us here in S. Florida!

Regards,
Frank

Didn't Greg and Gary have a band called "Grainger" some years back? I seem to remember seeing them @ the Capital Jazz Fest in (I think) 1998.
