WOW !!!!!!!!
What else can one say except just that. The performances were absolutly Great. They performed an awesome array of tunes and had a packed house both shows on Saturday. I have to tip my hat to Gary Grainger,,I have never actually seem him play live before this,,,now ,,,there is a Monster of a player as any musician will attest to,,,actually all of the guys are Monster players.

There is one fellow that gets forgotten some times,,,not on purpose, but just from all the pizazz with the shows,,,and that guy is Stewart....the manager of AA,,thanks a bunch man !

It was also very cool to meet some of the Boarders as well,,,sorry I couldn't chat longer,,,

So whats next for all the AA fans ???.....It's a long time till next July !,,,I know that myself and my band mates of 3rd. Octave Down have lots of homework to do now.....!

See you all later and have a great summer!
Ciao!

Gene

Next July I should be back in Seattle... with any luck. I've had my AA fix for the short term though. As I will be staying in Calgary, Canada for the next 5 months I might seriously consider jetting down to any tours the guys have planned in the US, just to hear what they sound like at other venues.

The last show of the Seattle sessions was fantastic. They even played an encore at the end of the show.

All in all.. 11 out of 10!!!

Hey Gene. I'm glad you feel that way about Gary Grainger. Gary's an accomplished musician, and he's very musicial. some of my favorite tunes I've enjoyed jammin' with Gary on back in the day was Gillespe's "Night In Tunisa", a fusion version of Miles Davis' "The Theme", and Gyra's "Serpent In Paradise". When jammin' with Gary, you're tempted to stop playing and watch him. Astounding.

I can imagine jamming with Gary would be awesome, he has some really hot grooves. He deives the music,,,the Bass line was very out there in all the AA tunes. Our bass player was fortunate enough to have be given a Grainger 2 CD, a project I guess they are working on,,,we gave it some listening on the way home,,,he is never at a loss for grooves it seems

As for me, I'm patiently waiting my turn to see AA when they hit the Birchmere next month. August is shaping up to be a very busy concert month for me. \:D And, I have to agree with everything everyone has said about Gary Grainger. He's very talented.

Two drummers I've enjoyed listening to when they work with Gary is his brother Greg, and Dennis Chambers. Heck, The Scoffield days can tell you a lot about Gary. I remember when Greg and Gary was working with an R&B group at Mr. Henry's back in DC called "Julia & Company". I also remember the days at Takoma Station Tavern in NW DC (My old neck of the woods!) to see, play, and hang with these cats were great, and they imparted a lot of musical wisdom without saying a word whether or not they noticed, but I'm grateful to these guys for doing such.
