What a great show at Zanzibar Blue! So nice to see AA friends Randy and his wife, glad the move went well. The Grainger brothers were a delight to watch and listen to. They so obviously love what they do and have brotherly connection to envy not to mention Gary played AA's music like he knew it all of his life. Great talent there. Fred sounded great as always, he is another remarkable talent that meshes with this band so effortlessly, and a super nice fella to boot. I had the honor to be center row just a few feet from the stage. To be able to hear your favorite musicians up close an personal and to interact just makes me feel like an extraordinarily fortunate person. That show was one of the best if not the best I have heard to date. The songs were extended and played with amazing passion. I found myself almost in a trance a few times. Perhaps the Belvedere and tonics contributed to the feeling:) Great to chat briefly with the band afterwards. Miles, the consumate gentleman said it was an honor to play for us. It was an honor be in his presence. During the show Greg mentioned that the Philly area has lost its smooth jazz radio station. I explained that it failed due to the fact that they never played AA music. In retrospect, I do recall on one occasion I had heard AA on the station. Regardless, let it be a messege to the next station they best play AA or their doomed!! Anyone up for starting an FM radio station in the Philly area? Half joking here but you never know...
Peace.
