Charlie Wright's an old friend who's a killer guitarist who lives in DC. Awsome band.

Sadly, Rob, apparently not....

I didn't myself, other than a set of strings and a couple new cd's to learn some tunes from.

A somewhat late present to myself was a really nice heavily padded stool, for our pratice barn; I can stand up with the best of them \:D but sometimes I just need to sit down, you know....
Picked it up at Office Max, was only 15 bucks, great deal. Must be a one-time type of thing, it's not on their website.

Other than that, no new equipment- anybody out there get anything?

Later

I got a couple titanium rods in my back and a whole lotta PAIN! (I dig that Ohio Players tune).

No gear, but a couple of books with cd's. One is pretty good; stand-alone bass tracks. Almost like karaoke for bass guitar. Beats trying to keep up with Kevin Tyler's act! \:D (Hey KT!) I've also been trying to pick up the bass line from Marion Meadow's " Diggable ", but I really get lost there.

That stool sounds pretty cool Tony. I don't have anything I can comfortably sit on; not even my backside. \:\( The Peavey is within my weight restriction, but I can't stand up with it.

I'm going stool shopping. Does that count as G.A.S.? :p

Well, one of the keyboardists at the church play for owns a piano/keyboard shop here in town is in L.A. at the NAMM Show, and he mentioned to me while he's there, he's getting the particulars on possibly working out an endorsement through his store as a dealer with Roland. So, if it works out, I'll pick up a Custom V-Drum rig with a work station and amps. I haven't really dug into the brain on the rig at church, but, if I have my own, I can become a mad scientist and put in the ultimate drum and perc. rigs that I would use on any venue, and write and arrange what I would need.

Bought an Ibanez AS73 Artcore Semi-Hollow electric guitar at Guitar Center the other day for $260.00. I was looking at a more expensive guitar but thought this one looked and sounded great. It's basically an ES335 wannabe!

It sounds like you got a very good deal. Enjoy.

Traded away my Lakland JO5 for a Fender USA Standard Jazz bass. Bought 2 new GK Neo112 cabs and I also bought a couple Epifani PS112 cabs used. I sold my Avatars and I regret it because I have not found my sound with the new cabs as yet. Dunno if it's the amps I'm using (Markbass and Genz Benz). So far I'm not quite digging the GK's but the portability is great at 30lbs each.

I got some new Pearl drums and a used Pacific snare drum. I also got a new Sabian crash cymbal for some stuff I traded in. Peace and goodwill.
