Here's a thread that'll let us hear each others works and promote each others bands.

Here's my high school jazz band.
http://www.boardman.k12.oh.us/band/jazz.htm

(I'm third from the left in the front row with the tenor sax.)
It doesn't look like there are any sound clips of my playing. There may be later in the year as my director updates the site.

Children of Sanchez! Now that brings back some memories! Good to see they're still shouting out to Chuck in high school. How about Maynard?

Actually, my high school jazz ensmeble has accompanied Maynard Fergeuson in a concert (c. 1979?) We have a picture of our band combined with members of his band and him in one of our display cases.

Hi Saxman!
Nice of you to share that !
I had no band in the schools i went to. Sure wish i had! Lots of catching up to do!
Did you have to audition to get into that?
Sorry , not familiar w/ how the system officially works!

In my school, they put some of the more experienced players in Jazz 1, while Jazz 2 is basically and introduction to jazz music. I didn't have to audition, my teacher just thought I belonged in that class. But let me tell you, it's the best period of the day.

Here's a short remake/remix of Paul Taylor's "Indigo" that I did a while back.

We meet everyday (last period of the day), and I take private lessons among other activities. I just found out today that we MIGHT book Tower of Power to play a concert and we'd be the opening act and maybe play What is Hip? with them. Now THAT'D be cool.
