I'm not a real musician but I'm happy to see the new edition to the site.

It may be a little biased but if a "name" artist on a big label puts out something I don't enjoy or think is worth the money I might speak up but when it comes to indie artists who are promoting their own music and using indie distributors if their music does nothing for me I will usually just say nothing because these guys/gals are already on an uphill climb and they need support, from others if not me..thus, a lack of response on my part in some cases..

Wow, are we starting off on the wrong foot already?!

Anyway..........let me introduce myself to those who don't know me already. The name is Dave Walmsley and I am a bassist, hence the moniker DWBass. I've been playing for aprox. 30 years on and off. I am currently playing in a corporate cover band called Rhythm Magik . I also have plans to record a solo bass cd in addition to a full production cd. I have no grand delusions to being a big star. I just want to play good music and share my gift for all to hear. Now lets hear from the rest!

Peace

hello everybody
my name is matt
i can play guitar.
according to thom yorke, anyone can play guitar. hehe. (Thats a radiohead joke ;\)
i have only recorded 3 songs ever and 2 of those are silly and you would laff.
the third is just a chord progression that sounded nice. i would one day like to think up some kind of melody to go over it but i am not creative enough.
i am in fear of using my creativity incase people think it is rubbish. whihc is a problem i suppose!
i spend most of my guitar playing time just playing along with my fave music which can mean anything between pat metheny songs (only the easy ones like follow me!) over to dream theater songs (again, only the easier ones like hells kitchen) through rush (often without the solos!) and up to deftones (now these i can play note for note! hehe)
i learnt to play by getting tabs off the net and tryin to play along.
the first songs i played were the first main melody to allways with you always with me by joe satriani (didnt learn chords till years after hehe)
and x-static by foo fighters.

ive never played in a band except for this one time at a friends party when me n me mate dougal who i inspired to play guitar, (albeit not as good as me ahem) he said we could play a couple of tunes at the party (i shat myself cause i never wanted to play infront of people. whats more, i was contracted to play the solo and im god awful at improvisation.
suffice to say we sucked and im sure the people at the party couldtn belive what they were hearing and wondered who the hell we were! ah thats one of those memories i would wish to erase completely from my head!

i play a sparkly red ibanez rg electric guitar and a sparkly red tanglewood electro-acoustic guitar.
they are so lovely \:\)

This is beginning to sound like a support group.

Hi, my name is Rob and I play bass. I've played all kinds of other wind instruments in the past but now it's just bass. I've been playing for about 10 years.

Here's my band: www.runavrilrun.com

P.S. Good idea adding this forum. Now O/T won't be cluttered up with "Another Question for the Bass Players"

Hey Rob- that's a cool website for your band there, and the bios are written with a sense of humor, that's cool.....gotta have some fun with it.

Support group, yeah.....
Hi my name is Tony (hello, Tony, they say in unison) and (sheepishly spoken, but with great relief in finally being "outed") I play bass.
Whew.....I feel better.
