Thanks for that link, I've followed it. So far, looks like a cool site. I may have to join in \:D

It was a little hard for me to follow because I didn't know the sound so I didn't quite know what to listen for but it was an enjoyable first time hearing it.

Nick Beggs on Chapman Stick (he wore a kilt at the JPJ concert)
In case y'all didn't know, Nick Beggs was the bassist for Kajagoogoo! Remember 'Shy Shy'? That's him playing that funky bassline!

I was stumbling around on "You Tube" when I came across a clip of Alphonso Johnson playing a Chapman Stick. The band is fantastic: Billy Cobham, George Duke and John Scofield.

Back in 1986 in D.C., I was on a dinner theatre gig with a violist named Willard Morris, who was a bassist, and played a 10-stringed stick in his fusion trio I got to jam with. We did a lot of King Crimson and Steps Ahead material. His had the combo of guitar and bass strings, and this cat would double guitar parts and play bass at the same time (I mean play two guitar parts and bass)! well, I ended up goin' on the road with a reggae band, and he ended up in a fusion group for a while with Bill Foster on bass, and he played lead bass and guitars on stick. Beautiful instrument that sounds full and wonderful, and ideas are endless on that thing!
