Fellow musicians

Great to what seems a great site for smooth jazz and Acoustic Alchemy as well.

My topic is regarding chord charts and or the tabs with chording worked out for smooth jazz songs...ie. Acoustic Alchemy, Dave Koz etc etc.

My band mates and I have 9 AA songs worked out that we do and a half dozen Dave Koz numbers as well.

If anyone is interested in trading songs we'd love to be a part of that.

We've been using a program called " DMM "digital music mentor and although the sucess of analazing the song for chords is only about 70% for smooth jazz it gives you a place to start.

Looking forward to any relpies
Thanks

I've been wondering about that DMM software. 70% doesn't sound so bad. Does anyone else use it?

Sorry, no smooth jazz charts here. Lot's of pop/rock bass charts.

I'd think that the success rate on smooth (or any kind of) jazz would be on the low end of the curve due to the extensions, suspensions, inversions, and generally close voicings used therein.

That said, I've been pressing Sher Music to put out a smooth jazz real book for some time now. I've got a bunch of arrangments of my own, but that computer took a dump a while ago and I haven't been interested in resurrecting it. Guess I'll have to start over.
