good morning, i just thought id share with you, my dream, which i had this mroning.

within this dream, i was at my university in one of the computer rooms and i was looking at the date for when the new ripps album was supposed to come out, and i was telling my friend next to me, who couldnt give a (expletive deleted). but as i was talking about it, this bloke behind me turned round and said 'is that you matt' or something, this dude announced himself as being Joel from this here msg board! \:D :p
and we just chatted about jazz n stuff for a bit and then it kinda fizzled out (the dream that is, i can never remember definate endings to dreams)

i just thought it was really odd that i would dream something like this. okay you probably think im disturbed now or something haha.

bye folks.

Here I was thinking it was going to be a profound thread along the lines of Martin Luther King's "I had a dream"...

Instead it's very cute! but I have a question Matt, why are you dreaming about Joel? Not that he isn't nice and all.

I had a dream this girl I work with and I were at an office picnic, we're walking out of a tent, when she bumps her head on a support post, and her head just pops off! What does that mean?

Yes...it was odd, and you are disturbed!!! LOL!!!

I'll share that recently had a dream that I was somewhere drinking, or wanting to drink this particular brand of whiskey....in my dream, I was upset that I couldn't be served that brand, even though in real life, I had never heard of the brand name before!

Next night, I am listening to my favorite laaaaate night radio talk show, and I hear a commercial for that brand of whiskey....the previous night I'd fallen asleep with the program on, and that commercial must've aired.

Funny thing is, I do NOT drink whiskey!

Another time, in one of my dreams, I was attending a Dylan concert....and at the same venue, the same night, Led Zeppelin then took the stage!

Turns out that my trusty Sony 5 disc changer had two Zepplelin discs and three Dylan discs in the mix....and I went to sleep with the more than five hours of music playing.

BTW, both in dream concerts were outstanding!

Peace!
Paul

Yes, now that you do mention it Joel I do remember that thread, it was interesting and fun.

I've gotten into the habit of listening to the dream doctor on the radio on those late nights going home from school. I get a kick out of how the people that call in take him so seriously, and all he does is kind of steer them into telling him what they think their dreams meant. It is amusing.

Laura, I think it means you secretly think she's an air head..... \:D Or maybe you're secretly jealous about her clothes or maybe her body, and you're replacing her head with yours.....just to see how you'd look in those clothes. You need serious help, and a stop by the pharmacy for some hallucigenics \:D

OK OK you know I'm kidding....... \:D :p

When I was a wee lad, I used to have a recurring dream where I was in an enormous soap bubble and floated around the room, while my brother and parents tried to "rescue" me...it always seemed like the dream took hours, but it's just a few seconds. Guess it's a deep-seeded need to fly like a bird. (I love flying, BTW- don't have a pilot's license, but always wanted to- it's my version of a good roller coaster to get to ride along in a single engine plane).
I have never put much stock in the dream interpreters, but I'm sure there's some good research on all of that- most of mine can be explained by daily events, or things I have forgotten to do and my mind is trying to remind me, stuff like that. But some of it is so strange that it seems like it is only random images, like I stepped into the path of my mind's filing system and just caught a few seconds of it, just enough to make me go "what the heck was THAT supposed to mean" ......and I think there's a difference in "dreams" and "visions"- there may be realistic cases of premonition dreams that foretell some danger or calamity, and people might be wise to consider what they mean before ignoring them completely.....it could also be your mind logically playing out some events that you are facing, and working out options for you to choose from.
The mind (well, brain) is still one of the organs we know the least about, and it's a remarkable creation.
And here I am rambling on like one of my dreams..... \:D
Interesting topic- I am a bit worried about Matt dreaming about Joel- might need to back off on the sauce, there Matt \:D \:D

Tony,

You hit the nail on the head, I do think she's an airhead!! And I know I'm disturbed, but it's more fun that way.

ROFL, good one, Tony. You beat me to it.
Was thinking the same thing - except for that part about txjzlady wanting to put her own head on top.
And Tx, it's fun being disturbed, ain't it?

Oh, and Matt, I second the motion that you back off the sauce. You might want to leave those late-night enchiladas alone, too. \:D

i listen to music all night everynight when im asleep, i just play my mp3 collection on random usually. but pretty much 9 times out of 10, the songs playing will enter my dream. usualy in a situation where the music is playing for some reason and ill recognise what it is. i only realise that it was becasue it was playing on the comptuer when ive actually woken up.
sometimes the music is twisted. but i can still recognise it. like 'oh this sounds like bla bla bla, but its being played by a didjerydoo?!' lol most of the time the situations are with people and im telling them what the music is in the vain attempt that tehy will like it. but NO even in my dreams, my freinds still dont like jazz \:\(

oh yeah, and whast wrong with dreaming about joel hey? in fact, how old are you Joel? cause i cant help but visualise you as the character Joel from the soap opera Neigbours, he was a swimmer too..... oooooooh.

in fact, ive decided, our Jazz Joel is indeed none other than daniel machpherson, that actor that played Joel in neighbors, using his character name as his forum alias!

Jazzwriter,

It most certainly is fun being disturbed, you get to have a good time, and when you're being your oddball self, it doesn't really bother anyone because they all think you're wacked out anyway.

Another good thing about being distrubed is that people who know you give you your space, and there is always a little respect, because people don't want to get you riled up or upset you!

I love it, and I'm still perfecting it...

Glad to make you laugh JazzGroove.

Actually, I'm like Norman Bates in "Psycho"--"I wouldn't hurt a fly"

But that's my little secret, the rest of the world that surrounds me doesn't need to know that, right?
