Well, you guys and gals have all heard me in here whining and crying about the stress and all of this moving thing....well, we have finally found a really good place to move into on August 25th, the last night of the G&S show down in AZ! I know a few friends who are going to be there and hopefully, are going to do something fun for Jeff K, since his birthday is the day after that!

Those of you that I have e-mail addy's for in my address book, I have already sent you, along with all my other friends and family in my address book a letter about this already, with the new address and phone number in it ( YES, I move fast, folks!). Why wait until the last minute?

Just had to share that wonderful news in here....ever since we got the good news this beautiful A.M., I have been having a great jazzfest going on really loud on my stereo system, pulling out one great after another: Craig's 1000 Pictures, Jeff K's Another Door Opens, Tom Grant's Tuning It In, Pat Metheny's Off Ramp.....and I just got started! Whew! What fun!

Love to the room,

Anita Bonita

Congratulations Amiga,
I haven't known you too long, but I feel like I know you since I've become "addicted" to the Magic Island Boards and I agree with alot that you have to say.
I hope you and your family have a smooth move and enjoy the new home...

Anita-
Good News!
Maybe that tax relief check will come in time to help pay moving costs- wouldn't that be nice?
Hope you love your new place as much as it sounds like you will, long waits sometimes make for better rewards.
Take Care-
BTW, I would help you move, but Tony Windle said he would let you borrow one of his fleet of trucks!! Right Tony??? HA!

anita, congrats to you and your family on the new casa! i know you'll have some great decorating ideas flowing. don't know if you'll get home and garden tv (HGTV), but if you do, don't watch too much of it, you won't get a thing done! hope you settle in quickly and that you'll have a safe and happy home environment.

enjoy!

Layne, you know it, babe! I used to only know one middle aged couple in Florida ( I used to work with them, nice people) in Clermont, FL, have some friends i GA and AL, and you are in NC ( isn't David Walmsley there in your area now?).....so yeah.....it would make more sense for me to come on out that way one of these times, to see all of you and all of us do our thing down south! Just let the dust and finances settle and we'll work on it, how's that?

Love you guys, man,

Chandra-I watch so little TV, but the one channel I do watch is HGTV, I am so hooked on it. I get so many ideas from it! Great show!

Hey Anita there is a lot joy in the sound of your post, I know how you must feel, I am moving the first of the month myself. Not only am I moving but the last of kids are moving into their own place as well. I am free at last!!!!!!! As it turns out they will be just a few doors down, Diana can't stray to far from the grandkids you know!

David and Dave:

First, Shrader: Well, they may still be close, but at least they are out of the nest now! Good for you, my dear, you started early! I still have like anywhere from 15 to 20 years to go! I am almost jealous of you!

And Walmsley: Thank you, dear heart! You are too kind....how did your move go? You settled in yet? Did the kids do well? That would be hard, moving as far as you did with little one's. At least we are staying in Oregon, only moving about 35 miles away and closer to Kevin's aunt, uncle and cousins and my close friends, and real bonus....the landlady and asst. landlady both have kids Cassie's age for her to play with and the asst. is next door to us! I think Cassie is going to like this! And, there is a swimming pool to boot! Time to go over her swimming lessons with her before we enroll her in the Fall sessions at the aquatic center in our new town!

Congrats to all 3 of us, I'd say....good job, team!

Well I can't move to far away from the grandkids. Spent the past two days babysitting the two youngest ones. You know if I had known that grandkids were going to be this much fun.....I would have had them first!

Shrader, you crack me up! Kind of hard to do that, my dear, but I think I hear what you are saying! Wish my parents were here for Cassie, but the other side of it is, I'm glad I am not raising Cassie in L.A. just to be close to them....she's better off being raised up here, where she was born and not as many, well......there are some Los Angelino's in here and I don't want to hurt their feelings, because not all of us are bad ( hey, I CAME from there MYSELF) but I do not think it's the ideal place for my child, let's just leave it at that!

Have fun with the grandkiddies, gramps

Oh Anita!! Girl do I have a story for you. I had been NN, Va. for a month now and just went back to NY to move the house (innards). I ordered a 17' foot truck a month ago. I get to the U-Haul place and NO FRICKIN' 17' TRUCK. I have to accept a 14'. Ok, now I get to the house and find we have more crap than will fit in the truck and probably wouldn't have fit in a 17 footer either. I ended up having to get another 15' truck!!! Now, here my wife and I are on the road to Virginia driving 2 moving vans. We had to leave the lad and mother-in-law behind. We go back to NY again this weekend on Amtrak to get them and the car and drive back!! Whew!!! I will NOT take another long distance trip for quite a long time!!

Oh David, you POOR MAN! What a nightmare, indeed! Jesus, I can relate, though. When I first moved to Oregon with my then boyfriend from L.A. probably mileage wise about the same as you just moved....man, that move was the nightmare from HELL!!!! We had two cats to move instead of any kids, but still, they were in cages and in the truck with us. OH MY GOD!!!!!! I won't go into it because you are going through your own hell now, but just rest assured that I can relate and I'm there for you to vent to when you need me, bud alright? You do have my e-mail addy still, don't ya?

Hugs and get some rest,

Well is sounds like you had far more trouble then I did David. My move was much shorter to begin with, we went from South Bend to Mishawaka which are twin cities so distance was no much of a factor. The heat now that is a whole different game. I felt all of my 53 years and then some. We have running around 95 here with a heat index of 100 or better. Ya know I used to do two a days in August and never had a problem, but as my wife was quick to point out that was 30 years ago. Never knew just how much stuff I had until I had to move it. We are still unpacking and as you see the computer was one of the first things up.

I hear ya, Dave. We are going to go through this house with a fine toothed comb and sell in a yard sale any stuff we have not used since we got here 2 and a half years ago, old toys of Cassie's etc. to unload a bunch of stuff so we don't drag it along with us when we don't want or need to! Plus, any little extra cash will definitely help....this moving stuff sure cleans out a wallet fast! YIKES!

Good idea Anita, as we get older we just naturaly collect more and more stuff and so much of it is no longer needed. This will be my last move, unless my powerball number comes in then I am off to Yuppieville. I don't think that I really would qualify as a young upwardly mobile professional. Would have to change the name to Suppieville...for Senior Upwardly Mobile Professional!

This heat was a realy trip, I came into the house after being somewhat overcome with the heat while we were moveing. Diana had this very strange look on her face. Not sure if she was concerned for my health or was simply adding up the zeros in my life insurance policy. But all ended well, a couple of gallons of water and three very helpful kids who really did most of the heavy lifting got us through it.

Hey Anita! I've been out of touch for a while. So much to catch up on and I was concerned about your search. Glad to hear you finally landed some real estate. Keep the smiles coming

Thanks Billy, you are always such a sweetie! Yep, now the only thing I'm not diggin' is having to pack in almost 100 degree heat! UGH! How oppressive and uncomfortable....oh well, lots of quick showers, sprays with the ol' water bottle and running through the sprinkler and playing in the "kiddie" pool for me! Thank God our new place has a "real" pool, guess where I'm diving into as soon as I'm done moving boxes into my new place....you guessed it! Thanks again for your well wishes and good vibes, Billy! Always appreciated!
