Parts of the Midwest are dying for some rain. In my area outside of Chicago, we have not had more than a trace of rain since the first week of June. I went from cutting my grass twice a week in May and June yet I have not cut it since June 20th. I guess that's good but it's very brown, crinkly and dormant. There are bigtime watering restrictions so if your yard is sizable it's very difficult to keep up with watering. Other than a possible shower tonight, no rain in sight either. Very strange weather year here. We had 31 inches of snow in December but only a total of 5 more inches for Jan., Feb., March.

Gee Steve, we do need to trade but I don't want the temps here as high as you guys have had and PLEASE....KEEP YOUR HUMIDITY!!!!! But yeah, we had a mild and not as rainy Winter as usual and now, our summer, a few very hot and just "normal days" ( in upper 70's, lower 80's) but a large part of July and now starting the 2nd day of August, this clouds, rain and thunderstorm garbage! I am not one happy little camperette here! We get enough of this the rest of the year, all I ask is for a nice summer, is that too much to ask for? And hey, Steve....wanna come and cut our lawn? We've got moving to do and the last few weekends have been kind of rainy....it's so long and going to be a B*I*T*C*H to mow! OY! Don't get me started on the weeds!

We haven't had a good rain since,...well... since the last time we did. I can remember the last time we actually had precipitation.

We have not had to get to the point of having watering restrictions here in northern Indiana, but like Chicago it has been dry here. Drove through Yuppieville yesterday and all the sprinklers systems were going strong. Hey Steve how are the golf courses holding up in your area. I will bet there are no watering restrictions on them. We did get a taste of rain this morning, cooled things down a bit but bnot enough to do much for the ground.

Hey Steve you know that old saying, "better be careful what you wish for"? Watching the news tonight I see that you got your 4-5 inches of rain....in about an hour! The people of Chicago gotta love you man!

Dave - Funny... I posted this, then the Thursday nite weather at 9:30pm said the whole viewing area was finally going to get drenched within the next 2 hours. Even the radar looked pretty ominous showing how it was bearing down on us. I kid you not, it drizzled for about 15 minutes...no lightning, no thunder...no rain and I'm hearing about suburbs 10 miles away from me getting 3-4 inches. I have no idea how it missed my neighborhood. Now the front has passed and no rain expexted for at least the next week. Oh well, if this is the least of my problems I will survive.

Steve (Who's lawn mower is rusting from no use and too much humidity)

It has been raining on and off for 3 days here, with the heat it gets really sticky and I feel like I am developing mildew but compared to the alternative I'll take it. 3 years ago we had no rain for a month, wildfires all over the state, smoke hanging in the air, dead plants, brown grass and watering restrictions.
Also especially in light of recent events in the NFL having it a little cooler and rainy during Jaguar training camp 2 a days is a good thing because it gets unbearably hot out there..

Steve, we got about the same thing here, rained to the north of us in Michigan but hardly enough to wet the ground here, weird storm. Hey Shanon I see another storm has been brewing the past few days in the Gulf, dumped a bunch of rain on South Flordia, any of that reach you in the north of the state?
