What a beautiful day in the “Mile-High” city! Sunny, warm, blue skies and crystal clear. The gold, burnt-orange and burgundy leaves on the trees, as well as the background of snow-peaked mountains will leave you absolutely breathless!
I drove up to the Antler’s Hilton Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs with my daughter’s for “Jazz In The Springs” on Saturday, November 10. The concert was held in the Heritage Ballroom…..very cozy—elevated stage, black velvet backdrop & multicolored floodlights. Jackeim Joyner opened with a very high-energy show, backed
by the Denver-based band, “Pockit.” He was fantastic! Paul was the headliner & opened with “Here We Go,” which immediately put us in “party-mode!” He has great stage presence and kept us mesmerized as he moved effortlessly across the stage while playing songs from “Ladies’ Choice,” as well as songs from his earlier releases. He continued the show by playing quite a few songs from his “Nightlife” cd, including “After Hours,” which is my favorite on that particular cd. Paul closed by playing a duet with Jackeim—Ronnie Law’s “Always There,” –oh man, they brought us to our feet! The show was so wonderful—I actually had bruises on the palms of my hands from clapping so much! After the concert, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Paul Taylor, Sr.—a very nice and gracious man. He is so very proud and supportive of his son!
--Thanks Paul, for a great show—wonderful memories, until next time...
