Dave, on one hand if more women abandoned romanticism the cosmetics industry would crash, the diet industry would crash, and most womens magazines would have to publish real content or go under. On the other hand instead of spending 45 bucks on something to put on their faces to make herself meet our standards of a romantic ideal, a woman could spend 45 bucks and buy 4 CDs (at online prices) and support these wonderful musicians!

Shannon: My wife say that she or should I say we do not need all the other crap to have romance. She seems to follow your idea and spend her (and my) money on our quest for great music. The weekends we spend chasing down all these great artists usuall turn into great romantatic weekends. We are grandparents but we both feel that the best part of our lives has been since we left the kids to fend for themselves (they are 5 anymore) and began kour never ending jazz tour.

I have been listening to music most of my life, but now, I have acquired a new appreciation of jazz. The first time I was exposed to jazz music, I was on the way to one of my friends home's. As I was walking down the street, I heard all this noise coming from a house across the street. All I heard were instruments and didn't have the slightest notion what kind of music it was. Now, each time I hear a new piece or discover a new artist, I remember that time, and also think to myself, boy, am I glad that jazz has it's own voice, and how it touches so many people in such a beautiful way!
