Just heard this on the Shanachie Records Compilation Smooth #1s CD. Incredible! I can't get enough of that subtle keyboard phrasing.

I need more...

Hi Paul:

Flattering to get a reply from da man himself. Are you on tour with the Rippingtons right now?

Also, if you don't mind, are you based in LA? I am in Nashville and it's just amazing how many LA-based artists are now in Nashville. Just curious...

Thanks for the reply. 'Pleasure Seeker' is headin' my way via CDNow!

I often play "Pleasure Seeker" at work to get moving. I've found that Paul's sax and the funky grooves on this CD are just as effective as caffeine.

Paul is not touring with the Rippingtons who are big time 'road warriors'. Being a Rippington does not allow much time to promote a solo career. I guess that's why Steve Reid and Jeff Kashiwa left. According to Paul's reply on another thread, he is working on new tunes and touring with his own band.

I think Paul lives in the Pleasure Seeker's mecca--Las Vegas (a short hop from LA). Nashville is the country music mecca. I don't listen to country music but I love that Hawaiian or lap steel guitar sound. Does Russ Freeman play one?

Hi Ars and thanks. I did get the answers to my questions from Paul's bio on his site.

BTW, you may be very suprised at how much music other than country is recorded in Nashville. For instance, Acoustic Alchemy's 'Beautiful Game' was recorded here and they used Nashville musicians. Larry Carlton lives 3 miles from my home and Michael McDonald is his next door neighbor. I know it's off-topic, but Nashville has been for some years much more than 'country music mecca.'

All the best!

I know Steve Winwood has/had lived in Nashville for quite some time, also. Guess that's why it's called the 'Music Capital of the World'

rachel.

paul, is it true that you'll be touring with Acoustic Alchemy and not the ripps anymore?
