Hey Paul,
Is the Jerry Hey that plays horns with the Rippingtons the same Jerry Hey that wrote"Jedi Rocks" for the sprecial edition of Star Wars:Return of the Jedi? I have a book of some of the music and I came across it and saw that Jerry Hey wrote the music to Jedi Rocks.

what's up saxman,

jerry hey totally rocks on trumpet and fluglehorn! he also does killer horn arrangements on hundreds of albums and was a member of "seawind",one of my favorite jazz groups back in the day. it probably is the same guy.

The song has a good groove to it, even though it's tempo is only 88. It seemed like he would of been the one to write the music because he plays the part of the horn section on some of the Ripps songs.

Hi Paul:

Seawind Horns (Jerry Hey, Kim Hutchcroft & Larry Williams) rock! I agree. Listened to them back in the days. Early, early 80's.

saxman:

check out www.allmusic.com and search for Jerry Hey. The list of artists he recorded with looks like the who's who of music. A kick-butt hornplayer. I don't think he's got a solo CD. He's mainly a session player, I believe.
