hey chandra. you're in the groove, now! the pt fan family is on. were you on the norway last year? it was a wavy ~~~ cruise, but paul handled it like the pro that he is! i'm pretty sure he's into holistic therapies 'cause some of us suggested the patch... but he had a wrist band working and in spite of everything, he kept the norway in the groove zone. where are the paul taylor t-shirts? they are long overdue! paul... you've got such a unique way of autographing. how about 'pt' diagonally across your signature horn? i'd be happy to assist with the marketing. definitely a project whose time has come. ttfn, gwenn ps to 'pt' - i hear you set the gaslamp quarter on fire san diego loves you!

hi gwen. you're right, the groove is on! no, i didn't make it on the norway, wish i were there. a jazz cruise is one event i'd love to be, especially if paul is on the lineup. hope i'm fortunate enough to attend the next. can't make it to NYC though. what show do you plan on attending next? i hope to make it to the Pasadena Fest. maybe one day we can hook up and meet the pt fan family. i hear the pt t-shits will be coming soon. i think paul should give out 5 free t-shirts to his most dedicated fans! (hint, hint)

hi gwen, i hear ya. i know it's not all about the t-shirts. its about the man and his music and how his music deeply touches our heart and soul. and, you can't help but move to his grooves. i kid with paul every now and then and he really doesn't take it personally. as far as being a loyal fan to paul forever, well, you and i are wearing the same shoes. i'm sure he appreciates our dedication, so let's just enjoy that saxaphone and have a great time! have fun at the upcoming events!

This years lineup on the Norway is Craig Chaquico, Marion Meadows, Jonathan Butler, Patti Austin, STanley Jordan, and Marcus Johnson. I was kinda wondering abut it being wavy~~~~since I even got motion sick in our station van when the wind was blowing and it kinda wobbled~~~~~would hate to spend a week on the water lookin kinda green~~~~ . Then when we get back it's Paul with the Rips at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival As for T shirts, Nick knows how I feel about this. Some of us were not "blessed at the chest" so Small shirts would be a good thing. [This message has been edited by Shannon West (edited June 24, 2000).]

hi shannon, craig and marion are "repeat offenders" this year! we had a great time! i first met craig a few years ago at thornton winery in temecula, ca. he was warm, generous, genuine and sweet he makes some of the most beautiful sound eminate from his guitar and i share his philosophies the planet. you'll really dig what marion does with the horn, as well. met and chatted with him a few times too! i especially enjoy it when he strolls into a darkened room playing, and you wonder where those sexy sounds are coming from last year, he appeared in the international lounge with khani cole. she was hot...he was on fire! if you've never seen jonathan butler, you're in for a treat. he's charming, stirs your soul and his music makes you warm and happy and misty! if you have, enjoy him like it's the first time. i'll always love patti austin the 'q's' goddaughter really pours her soul into the lyrics. stanley and marcus will give you unforgettable memories. last year's cruise just happened to intersect hurricane season, so a few ports of call had to be deferred because of choppy seas. if you tend to suffer from motion sickness, i would recommend the patch. apply it before you deploy to the open seas. just chill and you'll have a wonderful cruise. the fans, the crew and the performers will see that you do i love the norway..i'm thinking about doing it again, either this year or next. (i've got to still find time to do that 4-letter word...work, you know). cheers and have a great one. ttfn, gwenn [This message has been edited by gwennp1 (edited June 24, 2000).]

Heres one that will trip you out. The first time I saw Jonathan Butler he opened for Whitney Houston. it was either 87 or 88 (they were both on Arista and he was coming off of "Lies"..and he totally blew the crowd away with a set that was all instrumental except for that song. Craig Chaquico is going to play Jacksonville right after the cruise and I've already seen him about10 times so he's gonna probably be pretty sick of looking at me by then . I do this class that I have kinda invented called "Tribal Kick" and use two Craig remixes and a lot of trance/contemporary jazz remixes (I also do a funk routine to one of PTs songs. Who needs lyrics!)..Im going to try to teach it on board. Eat yr heart out Billy Blanks Even with the patch it is doubtful I will put on the cruse weight. I get reeeeeaaaaallllyyyy queasy when things get~~~~~~wavy. The intimidating thing is that most of the radio people who are taking groups of listeners on this cruise are extremely yuppie and I don't have a sophisticated/upscale bone in my body. I would consider it an affront to my status as a Thrift Store Diva if I spent more than 10 bucks on an outfit..it'll be interesting... hey shannon, sounds like you've got a plan for the high seas work it, girl! as for craig, he's so cool, he'll be happy to see you again if it's your thousandth time. for goodness sake, don't be intimidated by the radio people. they're just everyday people, who happen to cue the tunes that take us where we want to be. there are a few who are into "the look", but remember, a cruise is just that...down time to relax, get in touch with yourself, meet and greet likeminded souls (if you choose to), do the tourist thing and most of all, to flow with the theme...in this case - jazz don't worry about the fashion police. there are only two nights to dress memorably, if you want to - the first night when you meet the captain (photo op) and the last night at sea when everyone likes to put their party duds on for the lasting memory photos. otherwise it's casual. don't forget your beach gear for poolside and the islands. another great thing about cruising is you invariably meet others, just like you, so just chill and enjoy the moment. peace!

I am radio people The big difference is I don't wear Armani and I do get to program my own music (for my jazz show, not for my A/C shifts) which means I get to play more than one track from "Undercover".. gratuitous self promotion..www.wmxq103.com Sunday mornings. BTW Paul..too bad you're not doing this cruise because each group gets to throw a private party and ours is going to be a Jaguar party during the Sunday afternoon game, not that my listeners dont know who *your* team is or anything .. .
