Guys

I got into Acoustic Alchemy fairly late with the "The Beautiful Game" album and since then have bought AART, The Best of, Sounds of St Lucia CD/DVD, and booked tickets to see them in May and now my thoughts turn to thier back catalogue. So I came across "Arcanum" cheap as the cd didnt have the cd booklet with it.

Wow this album is tops, anybody know anything about it, it seems to have a live loose feel to it and I notice that several of the tracks are on other albums.

Any info would be a great help

Kind Regards

Adrian

Yes, Arcanum is a compilation of several albums which was recorded live (without the audience applause recorded). There is also a video to match this cd.

I like Arcanum's organic sound that its almost "acoustical and unplugged".

Selfishly speaking, I also enjoy its Live feel, minus the crowd noise. I often put on my headphones and imagine that this is a personal concert for me ...then again you can do the same and make it yours.

I really liked Arcanum - until I heard "... St. Lucia."

Different strokes. For me, the energy level of St. Lucia is quite a few notches higher than Arcanum (which is still a really nice CD).

I think that's due to the band taking a different direction since one of the original members passed away. They will never regain that duo guitar type acoustic vibe/edge. They are more of a 'smooth' band these days.
