www.thegrooveboutique.com Groove Boutique is a "smooth jazz mix show" and it really looks cool. I have been reading about this in the radio trades and he has a website up now..as the website explains
"Hosted by d.j. Rafe Gomez, The Groove Boutique™ combines the world's most exciting rhythmic jazz genres, including:
•> 70s soul jazz
•> 80s jazz-funk
•> 90s acid jazz
•> Today's electrojazz, house jazz, and uptempo smooth jazz
The result is an exhilarating listening experience that melds vibrant jazz musicianship with the funky thump of the dancefloor."
The website has playlists and mixes you can listen too. Overall its too hip for the room in terms of becoming a fulltime format..he brings in a lot of eclectic elements..but it could contribute significantly to the awareness that this music does not have to "grey out"! Its flagship station, believe it or not, is WQCD in New York..the station that thinks the Chi Lites and Lou Rawls should anchor a smooth jazz playlist in 2003
