OK, here's the challenge. Everyone lists the longest and shortest jazz piece (time, title, album & artist, year if there's more than one recorded version) they have in their collection, and we see who wins after a week. Sound fun? I'll post mine tomorrow. Multiple posts are allowed (if you forget a song at first).

as falls wichita so falls wichita falls by Pat n Lyle is probly longest at 20.41
unless the windchimes by mike oldfield counts... at 21.49...
i think surprise, surprise by mezzoforte has to be the shortest, its 0.34s

if we can use other genres then 17 by smashing pumpkins must be the shortest piece of music at surprisingly 0.17s.

and longest looks like itll have to be voyage 34 by porcupine tree at a stonking 29.48.
also, i know the original version of Moonloop by porcupine tree was 45 minutes, this was cut down in various forms for albums, but the complete thing was released to fan club subscribers only a few months ago. which is nice.

I don't really want to have to take sides here...I don't know Black, Brown, & Beige, but I would say that if they are 3 separate tracks on a CD, then it counts as 3 titles. I did have single songs in mind.

I have nothing that can rival for longest song right now, since As Falls Wichita... has already been posted, but here's my entry for shortest, and it is jazz.
