Would you say that Brian Hughes is more of a clone of Larry Carlton or Pat Metheney?

At Brian's website, he even says he has some influence from George Benson.

BTW, I just always though Kenny G and Dave Koz's music to be very similar in some ways.

Also, I think of Richard Elliot being a clone of David Sanborn at times.

I'm not sure clone is the operative word, but if there is one of Kenny G, I submit that Najee fits the bill.
But, like most, I prefer "strong influence" to clone. On the other hand, a clone isn't an exact copy. It has the same genetic makeup, but different environment and different experiences give it different characteristics.
In that respect, Norman Brown is a clone of George Benson. Patterned after him, but with a distinct personality.
Mindi? Hmmm. The closest I can think of is Tom Scott ... sax player, not entirely smooth and definitely not straight-ahead, mixing pop rhythms with jazz. And like Tom, Mindi sings on one of her tracks (Ref: Down to Your Soul on the Blow It Out album). Can you hear Mindi doing the sax solo on Steely Dan's "Gaucho"?

As we're placing order for clones, here's my wish list:

Jeff Lorber
Blake Aaron
Kim Stone
Will Donato
Jimmy Somers
Robbie Gonzalez
Jeff Kashiwa
Michael Franks
Bill Champlin
George Shelby
Marion Meadows
Dave Koz
Slim Man
Eric Marienthal
Jimmy Reed

To name a few! I don't ask for much, do I?

After over two years since it's release, I finally decided to purchase Citrus Sun's Another Time Another Space. I put it off for the longest because I never really was that impressed with their sound. However, a couple of weeks ago, I was listening to sound clips from this album and I was finally able to get into their groove. I've had the album for about a week now, and speaking of clones. These guys are essentially the instrumental divergence of Incognito after they decided to become mainly vocal several years ago. They're a lot more subdued, laid back, and low-keyed than Incognito, but essentially they have the same sound as "instrumental" Incognito. But they should. After all, they're the creation of long time Incognito head Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick. ;\)

But, considering how the present one works, if it's doing the picking, how can you be sure the replacement will be an improvement?
