As mentioned in the "listening to" thread, I recently discovered a local Dayton, Ohio act by the name of Deron Bell. His 2003 release called, "Jazz Just For You," is a very enjoyable multi-style jazz album. The album starts off with a very funky, bouncy, rendition of Grover Washington's "Mister Magic" followed by a very cool fusion interlude called, "D B Intro." As a matter of fact, these guys could have kept that one going, plus these guys ought to look into doing a full fusion album sometime because these guys are very good at it. And track number 3 is the crown jewel of the album, the title song, "Jazz Just For You." Now if you like super funky, low down nasty(nasty meaning extremely funky) funk, this song is for you. I don't think that I've heard a song this funky and this nasty in a long time. This song will have you bouncing, moving, and grooving, all at the same time. Yeah, this is what *I'm* talkin' about.

Next comes real nice rendition of "My, My, My" followed by two more really nice ballads in track# 5 and 7. Now track# 6 gets really interesting as it is a nicely done all-out blues song called "Sylvan Drive Blues." And the remaining tracks on the album are also nicely done. If you like what I've written and if you like the sound samples from the link below, you will not be disappointed if you purchase this album.
