Mandi...You will love Aire Crown Theater! Terrific acoustics, raised level seating everywhere so there is not a bad seat, nice decor. It seats, I believe around 3,200. Saw Rick Wakeman there about 20 years ago and Sting about 6 years ago but I don't think much has changed. I'd say it's in the top 2-3 venues in the city. I passed on Boney this time but hope you will tell us about the show. Enjoy!!

I wish I was going, have fun Mandi. Last time I was at the Crown was for an Anita Baker show and you know how long it been since she was on tour. It was a nice place for a show, but I prefer the Chicago Theatre myself. You are not far from the loop so it is wide open for afterwards. I don't remember seeing anything in the threatre for refreshments but again been awhile since I was there. McCormcik Place is a convention center so you would think something would be available.

Boney will be here in DC on 4/4. Don't know if I'll be able to go or not, but I'm hoping to. If I end up not going, could someone please review the concert so I can at least hear about it? Thanks guys!

Mandi...I'm only vaguely familiar with the city. I'm from Algonquin (far NW suburbs) but I know Aire Crown is not immediately close to any bars/restaurants. You'll probably need to cab it about 6 blocks west of where you'll be. I believe beverages should be no problem at the show.

Hey, I will be at Keiko Sat. night as well. Where are your seats? My tickets are suppose to be front row center. I am attending with another couple. I'm blonde, about 5'9", 160lb. Probably be wearing a lettermans/varsity jacket with "BMI" on the back. Maybe we'll see you there?

Mandi...Sounds like we were only a few seats away. We, too, were in the first row of theater seats. Row A, seat 13 to be exact. About 2 minutes to 8:00pm we were directed to those very front chair seats. But the refrigerator with legs that was occupying the seat wasn't about to move. As it turned out we were one row behind those chair seats. So if we had row A I wonder what row the seats in front of us were?

Was Keiko awesome or what??

Steve,
Why did they want you to move?
Keiko is great. She's very serious isnt she?
Her saxman said he trys to get her to lighten up .Trys to get her to smile & such..
he's from New York.
Paul..... he was playing on a Yamaha soprano also .Not sure if the serial# was the same as yours. His Alto was about a "1962".
Someday i'll have a soprano
Steve, did you stay and talk to Keiko?

It's probably the Yamaha YSS-62 soprano which seems to be very popular among sax players. Pros seem to stick with older sax models like the Selmer VI alto.

Saxmandi - What do you mean about Boney and 5 security guards? Did somebody hurt him before?

Those of you commenting above about Keiko Matsui ... perhaps you could provide some information for me. What are the names of saxophonist, guitarist and bassist currently touring with her band?

I could not discern their names when she introduced them due to audience noise and her tendency to be very soft-spoken.

Hi ,

Got to see Boney - Friday night 3/29.
Full of energy - upbeat show.

Anyone know names of his percussionist and drummer.? He introduced his drummer as ??________ best known for his work with George Duke. The two of them played a good 5-10 minute duet --
Those two were "ON" when they finished their " mini-show" they met half- way - all smiles and a huge hug for each other.

People were up dancin - Boney came into the audience - only 2 security w/ him - lots of audience interaction.

Great night.
