Hi to all. I recently (Feb. 19) saw the Spyro Gyra show at the Prairie Center for the Performing Arts in Schaumburg, Il. I didn't know what to expect, because I didn't know the venue, and there was no advertising whatsoever on the radio or in the paper. Well, as it turns out, it was a full house (the place only holds about 500 people). I sat in the 4th row, and it was an outstanding show. I don't know much about music, but it seems that each band member is a master in his own right at his chosen instrument. They played flawlessly and with a lot of energy, and I only wish I had a CD recording of that concert. Road Scholars is one CD that I listen to all the time, and it would be great to have another live CD of that quality with different tunes.

Looking forward to their next appearance in the Chicago area.

There were several of us at that show. I came up from South Bend. Nice venue and a great show. Hey My wife and I were in the fourth row too, left side. Small world. I too shall look forward to seeing them next visit. They will be in Ft.Wayne this summer, probably will catch that one. It is about the same distance for me.

Well, now you know the reason that Spyro Gyra has the reputation that they do have...namely, the jazz band whose performances are the bar that all others are judged by.

All i know is that I'm a veteran of 34 Spyro concerts since 1985, and I've never been let down. That should tell ya something. More amazing, as they radically changed the set list every year.

Peace!
Paul
