Hi Guys!

I will probably be going to the Oct. 6th show with the Carribean Jazz Project. I was wondering if people are aloud to tape(video or audio) any SG concerts for there own private use.

Thanks,
Jon

P.S. Any of you guys going to the first show of the new year? What songs would you like to see on this years set list?

Jon12 . . .

I'm assuming that this is a reference to the Keswick Date? If so, I'll be the old guy with the digital camera in the audience.

As for getting pictures of the band, I believe unit this camera will do a much better than my 35mm. It also has a 10x zoom capability and should help me get very good pictures up close.

Jon,

I am not sure if the band is going to overhaul the setlist quite yet....they usually wait until they have a new record coming out to do a set overhaul, so you just might get a similar set to the one from last year,,,,the songs that were on the netcast from the House of Blues late last year.
The basic setlist can also be found in other threads on this page.

Peace!
PauL

Shouldn't there be a new release though by Oct. 6th? Weren't they just in the studio working on one?(I'm not sure I thought I heard that somewhere though)

I think that one of Tom Schuman's posts implied that Spyro was heading in that direction. They have pretty much put out one new release each year. Pretty much a standard for the band. My only other thought on this subject would have to do with Jay Beckenstein's March 2000 release of his solo project. This might dictate a late 2000 release of a new one from the band. Sure would be nice to have two this year though.

I'm with you. October 6th would be a bonus, should they be doing a bunch of new stuff.

I am sure that Spyro Gyra will indeed be releasing a new record sometime in the year 2000, but I think it will have a late summer release at the earliest. Jay Beckenstein's side project was to have been released sometime last year, but with "Got The Magic" staying on the contemporary jazz charts for over 7 months, it was delayed, in order that Jay not be forced to compete with himself.
In 1999, Phil got to see two different sets from the band, one in March and one in August....the March set was a holdover from the 1998 tour.

Peace!
Paul
