Just wanted to ask other Spyro Gyra fans...if you were to pick one song to turn someone on to the band...what composition would you choose. I know...this is a tough one!

That is a difficult chore Paul. For me it would probably depend on the person's tastes in question, whether they were more into mainstream jazz or smooth music as two examples.

For guys like some on JCS who have very defined tastes I would suggest "Real Time" from the release "Three Wishes," or possibly "Birks Law" from "Dreams Beyond Control."

For one who prefers the Rippingtons, Boney James, etc., using the same albums, I might suggest "Nothing to Lose" from "...Wishes," or "Walk the Walk" from "Dreams..."

Now that wasn't exactly "one" composition was it? Presently it's the best I can do.

Phil,

If someone were into hard charging fusion, is there any other track than "Coversations" live, that you'd choose?

If they liked latin jazz, I'd have to go with "Old San Juan" off of Access All Areas...which brings me to another question for Phil....have you heard the AAA vesion of Old San Juan? It is only available on the album and cassette versions of AAA.

Peace!
Paul

As far as laid back Spyro Gyra:

Ya can't do better than "The Unwritten Letter"...I don't know if this qualifies as an out and out ballad...maybe that will be my next post!
Peace!
Paul
